Pilar (from Prosthetic Amalgams) I, an old man cast my line into the sea hoping for marlin, hoping for the best, but distracted even in this adventure by the presence beside me and those who came before. Those that died and those that wonder if death is hard. Those killed in the Spanish War and those who passed in the back of his ambulance. The bulls in the afternoon, the elephants of course and that poor, poor soul on Kilimanjaro. Death is pretty easy, but it all depends. I fight and fight until finally he helps me lash the small fish to the boat. Kenny A. Chaffin – 1/30/2015 |

				Writing a Book Tips

My blog is a mixture of reviews of books I've read, fantasy blogs and I also offer up advice for those thinking about writing a book. The latter is based on my experiences writing my own book.

I offer advice from starting to write a book, choosing a genre, to characters names and all the way to publishing. I hope it's helpful. There's a lot of pitfalls in writing and publishing a book so hopefully some tips will save new authors time and effort. The site is http://www.writingabook.ninja/ As well as reviewing fantasy books I also review historical fiction and I like tales about Rome, Egypt and many others. |

				Schrodinger’s Cats

New post on Mansions of the Mind

. Schrodinger’s Cats (from Prosthetic Amalgams) They called them Schrodinger’s cats and they never failed to amaze me, even with all I’ve seen in my long life. The neocat lifeforms were fully designed amalgams of biology, physics and artificial intelligence. It was their behavior more than anything that intrigued me. They would warily approach an electrical outlet as if stalking it and then lap at it with their long blue tongues as if it were a bowl of milk -- the overhead lights flickering with each touch of those tongues. http://mansionsofthemind.blogspot.co...gers-cats.html |

			Hello everybody,

I've been working with ebooks for quite a while, and by doing so have built myself a couple of tools for document analysis and ingestion, content analysis, and finally conversion. The last few months were dedicated to wrapping all this into a webapp. Now I'm getting to the point where my webapp becomes stable and useable, although not quite exposing all of the features of the tools themselves... yet. I am looking for testers. If you are interested in testing my webapp, running your documents through, give me feedback on the conversion process and design, and whatever else comes to your mind, please contact me through PM or the website. Thank you all in advance! Jens |

				Looking for New writers

			Hello everybody!

We just launched a new startup, and of course we are looking to start our quest of changing the world. We are looking for new and independent writers that would like to try out our new platform called Inkspired (www.getinkspired.com). Inkspired is a web and mobile platform that allow new writers and storytellers get published faster, by posting their stories online in a serialized way, so readers can follow their progress. You don't need a completed book/ comic to start up. You only need a kick ass first chapter and publish it to start getting readers and feedback; from there, you can let your story grow on its own ![]() If any of you loves reading online or is an independent writer or artist trying to build a fan-base and connect with them, you are very welcome to try it out! Cheers! |
