Kittens are both asleep in my lap. The barrels are the big construction ones you would see on the road. They block our ingress and egress if the creek overflows our bridge. The creek literally runs under a bridge at the entrance to our neighborhood. So we occasionally get flooded IN.

Probably the barrels are intended to keep idiots from driving into a flooded street.

Though the last time there was major flooding in my area there were a couple of idiots who drove around barricades and had to be rescued

Yep, all good here! Had some wind gusts and rain that the kittens were not over-fond of, but I was here doing an online class for work so we hung out.

Chilly, light rain all day long as the outer edge of Dorian approaches. It shouldn't get much worse for us than this, and it should be gone by tomorrow afternoon.

It seems we're getting two more days of nice weather before autumn begins. Today it'll be around 22C and sunny, tomorrow around 25C and sunny, but we might get thunderstorms during the evening and night.

From Monday autumn arrives and it'll rain daily. I'm going on vacation next week. I don't mind it too much, I've booked an apartment. I just hope that there will be a dry period on Thursday or Friday so I can cycle to the nearby town to the supermarket to stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables.

Today's very wet and windy. It might possibly get stormy. These are the remnants from a hurricane. Tuesday we're getting a similarly wet day.

Today is a great day to curl up on the couch with a good book.

We had a beautiful day, today. We were in the low 80s (F) most of the afternoon, with mostly sunny skies and very low humidity. Only the dogwood leaves have been "turning" but all of the leaves are getting drier -- they're making a distinct rustle in the breeze and a few fell with the stronger breezes.

Our leaves are going straight to brown and crispy in these drought conditions ... no rain since before Dorian methinks ...

Our high temp for the day was 85° F, the sky was sunny and the humidity was very low. I did some reading on the deck and took a sunset walk at a local park.

It was a really beautiful day, but 85° F really is too high for October 1st.


Tomorrow is forecast to be another beautiful day, with a predicted high in the "low 90s."
