Yes, it is. no matter how many times you tell yourself you're making the right choice, it hurts. But to be able to make that choice despite the pain, is sometimes the kindest thing we can do for a pet that never did anything but love us. The least we can do in return is to not let them suffer.

Thank you everyone for your sympathies. I've been catching up on much needed rest. Sweetpea has no ideal why she is being pampered so much but the little stinker is soaking it up. Because of jealousy I could never dolt on one kitty over the other. It would cause a slap fest between the two. Cats are a lot like kids in some ways.

I'm signed up for the Sourcebooks Casablanca monthly newsletter and that's where they usually announce it.

They also have free serials, where they pick one of their romance books or novellas and then give you a chapter (or sometimes just half a chapter ) a day by email. They are currently serializing a regency called The Impetuous Heiress by Jane Ashford.

Thank you. It's getting a little better each day. Sweetpea is adjusting quite well. I've gotten more uninterrupted sleep in past few days than all year.

I'm recovering from defective Nexium. Stuck eating the GERD diet again till I heal. I'm just glad I realize it on day three of the new bottle something was wrong with it. I'm two days into the replacement bottle almost all pain has left just feel raw inside specially between the shoulder blades. If you buy Nexium24Hr steer clear of packages with Lot # BAPH

Open Road has done this again - their email freebie today is not a PD book, but is the Benched Boxed Set: Ice Hockey Romance by Colleen Charles. It's free at Amazon US (and probably elsewhere, judging by the last time they did this) for today. Open Road media puts out a daily "Early Bird Deal" email that always (so far at least) has a freebie at the end. So far, every single freebie I have seen, over multiple years of checking this email pretty regularly, is their edition of a PD title, but today is different.

Today the freebie is a box set of the first four titles in the "Edge of the Heat" series by Lisa Ladew. I'm not quite sure what Open Road's relationship with this box set is - they are not listed on the Amazon site as the publisher, but the info on the freebie came as part of their normal daily email, so I'm assuming they are involved in some way and this is not a self-pub. YMMV...

I submitted a receipt for points to Harlequin on Sept. 19th. I emailed them on Sept. 27th when my points hadn't yet appeared in my account. They replied on Sept. 29th that it would take 3-7 days for my points to show up in my account. It is now Oct. 7th, and the September series bonus contest is now long over. Should I be concerned that my points still have not shown up in my account or is this typical?

I would email them and ask as that is not normal. At least that has not been the case for me in the multiple times I've submitted receipts (at least 15).
