Not banana?

I was looking for a picture of banana sherbet and discovered that that's a very popular kind of pot! But that's legal in Washington state, so maybe you want that?

So I had to search for banana sorbet instead.

And here I was drying and crushing banana peels

Never had banana sorbet. Somehow, it doesn't sound as good as mango. I love mango sherbet.

Monsoon rains today ... ahead of a 'coolish' front - to drop temps below 90 F ... maybe ...

It'll be a very hot day today, around 36C, tomorrow it'll be even warmer. We're lucky it's a dry heat and not very humid, though. So I got up at 6 am, walked the dog and now I'm trying to cool down the groundfloor as much as possible. Before it gets warmer outside than inside I'll close everything up, close the curtains and hope it'll stay a bit cooler inside.

I'm looking forward to Sunday, when it's going to be "only" 25C and rainy.

Strange weather here in North Texas.

High today is 89 F (31.5 C), low humidity and bright sunshine.

Normally 100+ F (38 or more C). I haven't seen this sort of weather here in my 29 years here in DFW (this time of year).

Today will be even hotter than yesterday, around 37C locally. The big thing on the news today is if nationally the magic 40C will be reached. Tomorrow it'll be a couple of degrees cooler, but still too hot for me.

By keeping everything closed I managed to keep temperatures below 30C indoors yesterday. Hopefully I can do the same thing today, though I do thing it'll be over 30C. Right now I've got a fan in the doorway blowing cooler air inside. Once it start to warm up outside I'll close the windows and doors and hope for the best.

I'm going to show my ignorance here of how your homes are built, but do you have any chance of relief with central cooling? I lived in a house as a kid that did not have central heating and cooling, but I would have a hard time imagining it now.

I grew up without A/C but as outside temps back then rarely got above the mid 80's it was liveable as long as we opened windows at night and closed the windows in the morning before it got hot out. (I still live in the same area but we seem to get more 90-degree weather these days.)

If I had to live in a home now that didn't have central AC I would get a window unit, at least for the bedroom.

These temperatures are exceptional. The average temperature for July is 22C, tonight temperatures will drop down to 24C. Today we reached over 38C, in the city, where I am, a bit warmer than that. I managed to keep temperature inside down to 30.5C, I took dog Keira for an early walk, her next being at 9pm, when temperatures are starting to go down.

Almost every summer there are some days when temperatures rise to around 30C, but over 40C (in the south of the country) is exceptional. This year we're lucky it's just a couple of days, last year we had weeks of hot weather. There are very little houses with central cooling, we usually make due with fans, some people might have an airco they can move around, which they put in their bedroom when needed.

Just one more day of high temperatures. I can deal with the day, but I'm not sure how well I cope tonight.

Saturday there's a divide in the country, the south will be cooler, around 25C, and very wet, the north will be warmer, up to 30C, and dry. I'm in the middle and rain is predicted for most of the day, but the various weather can't agree on the temperature, but even 29C sounds nice, 25C sounds positively cool.

That's good that you don't have to deal with the hot temperatures much longer.

If I recall correctly, you live in a very old building and I'm guessing it would not be easy to install central air in a building that was not designed for it.
