Drinking black coffee and trying to wake up. I had one of those rare mornings of sleeping late. (Well, late-ish.) I spent the weekend at my handspinners' group retreat, held about an hour east of the city at a lodge/wildlife center. I did a lot of laughing and a lot of walking, and apparently both of those things have exhausted me!

We have these weekend retreats twice a year, and they fuel me emotionally for the rest of the year. I have some very good friends in that group and spending time with them is so relaxing and so much fun.

Sounds like fun! Are spinners generally weavers too, or is it just the spinning part that attracts most of you? Do 'hand' spinners use a wheel or one of those dreidel-looking things?

A lovely glass filled with ice and a blueish liquid. (Funny... it didn't look blueish.)

Do you remember your first kiss? How was it?

It WAS fun. Most of us are weavers and knitters, too. And most of us use both spinning wheels and various handspindles. It's a diverse and interesting group of people (and I say "people" because we're not just a group of women -- we have men in our group, too.) Here's a (blurry) panorama pic I took Saturday afternoon of half of our meeting room. Lots of different kinds of wheels represented here. My wheel is the third from the left, in front of the empty upholstered rocking chair. It's a Schacht Ladybug. I have more traditional wheels, too, but this one is easy to transport and spins beautifully.

And to stay on topic here, we drank plenty of ... tea. Yeah, that's it. We drank tea. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Nope. It might have been in Junior High. It was probably in High School. More likely then not it was bad but I thought it was great. (shrugs)

The steeping time I get this part but the temperature part, not really. It is the blackest of the blackest black tea

100°C (probably 96°C by the time I finished warming up the cup).
I put 1tsp, a bit heaped for 300ml. I have not played with this one. With all others 3min usually works the best for my palate. When I play with time I usually range from 2min to 4min.
