I suppose the reason the bus is hitting me has something to do with this guy:

I almost always shut it off. It's a laptop AND, when waking up from stand by, one in every 3-4 times it won't power the screen up - this gets really annoying, since I can't even shut down correctly (command doesn't work), so I have to do it the hard, -hold-power-button-for-5-seconds way. I suppose it has something to do with the laptop never being designed for win 7. Anyway, my pc's last 2-5 Years, depending on the users. The computer I left home (being used mostly by my little sister) is actually reinstall-ready in less than a year.

We love our pets

This morning it was springtime in Florida. A gentle breeze, sun shining, and the temperatures were headed to the mid 70s, so we had the doors and windows open. I was heading backing into the kitchen to put my coffee cup away and planning on going outdoors. But I saw our youngest cat in the middle of the floor, on top of a squirrel, which was belly up. Four legs and a tail, and the cat holding it firmly to the floor.

"Hey honey, could you help me out in the kitchen?"

My wife came in, and as I gently moved the cat off the squirrel she prepared to scoop it up. Moving the cat revealed the squirrel had no head. And that there was a blood trail. And I'd stepped in it.

Tomorrow is not supposed to be quite so warm, maybe he'll stay indoors.

reading that makes me very thankful our cat is an indoor cat - sounds horrific. Our previous cat used to bring us dead birds and dump them at the bottom of our bed - i guess it is either a way of showing off or showing affection for the human owner - if so your cat must love you a ton to bring you a squirrel!

We used to have a psychotic killer cat we called 'Merriweather' when we lived in New England. He use to bring us heads... Birds. Squirrels. Mice. Voles. Etc. We never found what he did with the bodies. Eventually, we had to deport him to Coventry as he began savagely attacking anything that moved... feet, hands, eye lids... It got scary. We found a nice farmer with two old hay barns who wanted more cats to keep down the rodent population. He was happy to take Merriweather.

We gave up keeping cats here and the bird population flurrished like you wouldn't believe. We love the wildlife. Lyrebirds, exotic birds, lizards, possums *with heads* etc. No more felines for us.

You have to keep the kitties in the house!! Then you won't have to worry about any buggers that get in.

That's true. I only fed my cat once a day at 6pm. It would come in to eat and get locked in for the night.

My 2 kitties live indoors all the time. They don't know any different, and around here cats live a LOT longer as indoor cats (too much car traffic). They are 17 years old...

It is said that the life expectancy of indoor cats is twice that of the outdoors cats. But I don't know.........34 years seems a lot to me.

I definitely believe that's true. My cat before this one was a 14 y/o female that never wandered when she got out. She would take 2 steps out of the door lay down, and when she was ready, take the 2 steps back inside. One Sunday around dinner time I was taking bulk item to the curb and had the door open. I have no clue when she got out or what happened to her. My hope is that she went around the corner and someone picked her up and kept her. If a stranger called her, she didn't hesitate to run over and let them pick her up, walk with her, or whatever. She just loved the affection.

So when I got this kitty, I don't even let her get any ideas about going outside. She used to try to run out, but now she'll just sit at the door. She's pretty happy being inside next to an open window.
