Why would you even bother to try blocking a sword with a pith helmet?

Have you seen any of the videos of Kum Do sword demonstations where they are cutting bamboo (single or bunched), bunched reeds or rolled up reed mats (Korean equivalent to Kendo)? Perhaps watched a few episodes of Forged in Fire (either Doug Marcaida (this blade will keel) or James Neilson)?

Wouldn't the cucumber scare away any cats who encounter it? Aren't there many YouTube videos that show cats running away in terror upon seeing a cucumber?

Wouldn't that depend on how you define "seen"? Does it mean directly seen as in you were actually in the same room with the cat? Instead, could it mean you saw the cat on a video screen? What if the cat is shy and won't do anything while you observing him/her?
