That behaviour sounds like you have the same column used for both the word and page count. And possibly the other stats. It's probably because they are not the same tools or the same version and calibre is designed to work with the tools and versions of those tools it comes with. For PDFs, Count Pages uses the calibre PDF routines to do the work. If they fail because a tool it uses has been replaced, there is nothing I can do.

If the pdfinfo in calibre works with Count Pages and the functions in calibre that use it, then you need to work out why Extract ISBN doesn't work. It doesn't fail here, so I do not know what is happening.

Hi- I had to reformat my hard drive, so downloaded the plug in again, but it's not working this time. The plug in runs, It says Count Complete and asks to update my column. I click yes, but the page count stays at 0. Not sure what I'm doing wrong this time.

Custom column: #pages(Pages)
Algorithm: Adobe Digital Editions
Selected Goodreads and lubimyczytac.pl as sources.
Checked show download from all sources menu item.
Checked Try to download page count from each source.
buttom default: Estimate page/word counts
Checked always overwrite an existing word/page count
Checked Prompt to save counts

Any suggestions on how to get this working are much appreciated.

Hi - I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall calibre. I'm currently using 5.39.1. I also added the plugin back in but it's not working now. I've been using it successfully for years, but I'm just getting zeros since the re-install. How do I figure out what's going wrong?

I have had to re install this plugin and am unable to populate the Custom Columns. Nothing is in the drop down menu and i can't type anything in. Can anyone help please?

The image you posted suggests that you have no custom columns of the type integer set up. Go into Preferences => Add custom columns, click on the Type column header and if any Integer columns are available. If you don't see the pages custom column, set it up as per the first message. At the same time, if you want to use word counts or any of the readability statistics columns, you may want to set up their custom columns.

Edit: Also remember custom columns are per library. If you set up the columns on one library, they are not automatically assigned to other libraries.

I’ll take screenshots to know what to do next time. Luckily I don’t have to do anything now as I was able to restore my db file to a backup from a week ago and everything came back as it was. Thanks anyway though. It’s much appreciated
