for normal sourdough, it is not bits of bread, but the liquid state that you pull out before adding the flour. this is done constantly, thus some starters develop rather impressive "pedigrees"

I remember seeing packets of dry sourdough starter being offered in tourist souvenir shops in some western states. Just add water, wait a couple of days, then mix half into the sponge waiting to proof. Save the other half to grow into the next starter batch.

Sometimes I have a serious ' vent and rant' ; an itch about a very trivial thing that has gotten me worked up in a big way.
Then I compose this huge post, with a lot of &@€##### in it and also lots of

^^^ .
I then read it and mutter aloud ' so; THAT will teach THEM !!!!

And delete all........very satisfying.......

I do that with emails at work - write a rant full of expletives, exclaimation marks and off colour comments on their intelligence - read it through, then delete it and compose something a lot more professional to actually send.

I might think "&@€#####" but I won't write it. I now have a habit of totally ignoring posts where someone is being a bit of an ass. And I don't want to offer help to someone who's being arrogant and also what I term as being a bit anal about things.

I always though Pittsburgh and Philadelphia were sort of interchangeable.

Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are not that similar from what I remember, but it has been a long long time since I was there, I seem to remember this gent with a kite and a string, some nonsense about elec-trickle something or other, rather mad I think.

So, how would you answer, "All things considered I'd rather be in __________ "?
