LexiaDaMa has always been my favorite, but I found one I like even a bit better, Roboto Slab. I love being able to change fonts to get the best reading experience for my crappy eyes.
Interesting. It's only very rarely for me. I'll still stick with kepubs for the (I think) faster page turns. Thanks for the font recommendations, I do like to try new ones...

The Bookerly isn't bad and can be added to the font directory in the root of the Kobo, if it isn't there you can create it yourself.
I use kepubs because the ghosting for some reason doesn't look that worse on it, and when you set the lineheight ok,there will be no lines..
My main problem with side-loaded fonts is not being able to configure the weight (though isn't there a patch for that?). Also I prefer fonts with close character spacing, and Amasi very much fits the bill in that respect. I wish there was a kerning option.

Anyway, thanks again guys . I'm interested to know if there a solution for cramoisi's problem.

Found it... and.. i don't know what it is..when you put the device off and shine on it with a flashlight it is also visible, it almost look like "this is the end of the screen, place this under the bezel.." kind of line.
Just place the reader totally vertical angle and then look on the device from above.
I found another thing, when I put my device off,the cover appears, in my book a black cover.. and then the line is white !

It is there on the normal Glo to, only a bit more gray then black..it doesn't bother me and if you didn't point it out,I would never have seen it.

Hello,
I've been following the thread for some time and had decided to buy the Glo HD, but... is ghosting noticeable in this device?
I had a Glo (not HD) and found the ghosting very annoying. Much more heavy than in my Kindle 4, resulting in not using the device unless I required the frontlight.
I can live with any other issue, but ghosting is a deciding factor for me. Is it bad on this device?

Thank you all for your valuable comments in this thread!

Mine has no ghosting issues whatsoever. I am running the latest firmware, I use side loaded books (that convert to kepub upon loading via Calibre). Others may have different results depending on their configurations.

Yes and no.. depending on which firmware and what do you do.
Just reading, there is no ghosting at all, but when you select an option, that window stays visible.
And when the device awakes, the cover that is displayed when it sleeps is visible.
Several ways to handle it,double tap on the screen and it is gone.
Set the refresh rate higher, you can set it on every page.
So,with normal reading I see no ghosting at all.
Firmware 3.15 has some options to "disable" ghosting, but that is only for the option windows that stay visible.
If you just read, my refresh rate is at 6 pages and there is no ghosting txt from the previous pages.

/edit.. oops, Anne (booklover6) was more quick then i was..

The same for me. I don’t even know how I catch it the first time. Please people don’t look after it

See, I checked mine while I was posting, and I am not even seeing any ghosting in those situations. I did have that happening on 3.15.0 but not now on 3.16.0

I also see this, and also a line up the left side, but I need to look at an angle to see the lines.

Yup. I just wanted to know if it’s normal or if my own bezel was off-centered. It looks like it’s normal but I don’t want to ruin people experience with pointing out some strange and invisible thing on their device

It’s like this story of Roal Dalh I read as a child. It was about a man who bought a house at a very cheap price. And the seller told him there is a sorcerer who live in the closet. But nothing to worry as long as you don’t sing this super annoying and repetitive and impossible to forget song... And of course the seller sang it...

Is there a size limit on .txt files on the Glo HD. The reason i ask is I have a large book in .txt format and while it transfers it doesn't show up to read. I split the file in half, (from 2.2mb to 2 files of 1.1 mb and there it is. It's not just the one book, I tried it with 3, all over 2mb and none can be read on the reader, but if i split them they can be read.
I used Calibre to change them to epub and all is OK without splitting them. but I'm curious.
