Same for me. No email from Borders and order page still saying in process. Could it be because we - the last two posters and myself - live outside the US and Borders haven't got round to their international database. Or could it be..... No. ? They couldn't.. they wouldn't just send us our orders? Could they?

I know. It's probably becaue they can't post out coupons to us in American dollars. They'll have to come up with something else.

The following is from Borders website...

Quote:
Carefully review your order. You may make any necessary corrections by clicking "Edit" under the section that you would like to change. Complete your order by clicking "Order Now." You may cancel your order at this point by selecting "Cancel Order" at the bottom left of the order screen. Please note that once you have clicked "Order Now" your order cannot be edited, canceled, or changed in any way.
I'm considering calling Borders on this if my order has gone from "in processing" to canceled. Canceling the order is changing it in some way.

I know ...they made a contract with us and now they are breaking the contract. They would not allow me to to cancel my order because I made a mistake "sorry I wanted to buy from Barnes and Noble not you"

I still have not received an email, but I'm in OZ so I guess international customers are being ignored.

I might not have gotten a cheap ebook reader, but I got a laugh at out this whole thing :-)

Not gonna work. The inability to cancel orders is a limitation on you, not Borders. Even the $25 coupon that they're giving is a goodwill gesture; they're not legally obligated to give you anything.

As ardeegee pointed out earlier, this is an excerpt from their pricing policy (emphasis is mine):
Quote:
Borders reserves the right to revoke any offer, sale, promotion or price, whether or not an order has been acknowledged via email, for any reason, including without limitation, for purposes of correcting a pricing error.
Sorry, you're just going to have to live with the cancellation.

I am okay with the $25 coupon. I might use it on the Kobo (pending reviews), which would knock it down to $125. Not bad.

Is Kobo part of Borders? Thought it was a $25 Borders coupon that is only redeemable through their store.

I could be wrong though.

Maybe you can save it for when the eBook store opens and buy some eBooks.

yep I just got my cancellation email and a $25 e-gift card that I can use at Borders.com

I was thinking if the Touch is $199 with the $25 e-gift card brings it down to $174... (that is if I can use it on the Sony reader) not a bad price I think
