Nice one!

That cover is made by http://www.casecrown.com/ who seem like a reputable manufacturer.

Senyx Direct also operate an ebay store on ebay Australia, I think I'll buy one. Very reasonably priced, so I'm happy to take the risk.

EDIT: Slapped down $20 Aus for a black one.

IYO. I use my Kobo mostly in crowded buses and trains. I'd be more likely to drop it if I were fumbling around with a case, so a sleeve works for me. Right now I'm using an old padded envelope, but what I'd really like would be a sleeve like the Roots one, with an aluminum plate sewn into one side of it. The biggest danger my Kobo faces is getting crushed to death in my backpack.

Good find! I just grabbed a black one.

EDIT: Turns out this case is NOT designed for the Kobo. I sent the e-bay seller an email asking about this and got the following reply:

Dear James,

We have had customers who like this case with their Kobo.

However, we can fully refund your order as it is not specifically designed for the Kobo.

You should receive a refund confirmation from Paypal shortly.

Please confirm our cancel transaction request.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Did you end up getting it?? How does it work? Here's one found on Amazon.com. Looks like the same one.

http://www.amazon.com/Kobo-eReader-L...7131475&sr=1-7

My only concern is that its still possilble to depress the blue button when pressure is put on the cover.

@ Duiker:

No, I cancelled my order when I found out it was designed for a Nook. But I think that Artificial has one ordered, and I'm sure he will let us know how it turns out.

I do have one ordered myself and when I get it, I will let you know. If I figure how to insert pictures, I will show you the same.

If M-Edge released a Kobo Case and GoldenShellback Waterproofing service starts soon then that'd be a near perfect case

Check out video of the GoldenShellback coating in action:

Crazy huh?

Just picked up a case at WalMart. It is a body glove Universal Protective Sleeve for E-Book Readers. It fist perfect and should protect it really well. Paid $15. Says it fits the Kindle and the Sony Touch, but the Kobo was a perfect fit.

Ebay case

good afternoon,

I purchased the ebay "kobo" case a few weeks back. While it is not completely designed for the Kobo it does a good job keeping it safe to and from work and appointments. I actually quite like it. It does cover the SD slot and recharge but I find if I am using the SD card it is out of the cases already and recharging while in case is not much of a problem. I am still undecided on the Roots case that Chapters has but between $15 with s&h or $30 at store the ebay was a better deal.

That Body Glove case looks pretty decent. walmart.com says it's in-stock at my local store... Need to put an eyeball on it tomorrow.

Then I found one on my own, so I figured I'd share

But first I have to say that this case was expensive... perhaps too expensive...
After I ordered it I felt a little remorse, but now that I have it and there's no "official" case out yet (not counting that sleeve), I'm so happy that I have it!

In looking for a case that fits, I found out that the Coolreaders Cool-ER reader has almost exactly the same dimensions as the Kobo. It's literally just one or two millimeters off on each side. Then I found this:
http://www.noreve.com/category/Ebook...Tradition.html

It's from a site called NoReve.com. They're a French leather-case manufacturer. What's cool about them is that they can custom make your case in a number of different coloured leathers, and in a number of different finishes. Anyway, I chose their "Traditions" case for the Cool-ER in the "Ebony" finish, and it's classssy.

PROS:
- Fits perfectly.
- The openings in the case perfectly suit the Kobo (SD card, USB port, Power Button) -- I guess the Kobo and Cool-ER are made by the same hardware manufacturer.
- It has a "kick stand" on the back if you want to stand your Kobo up. The stand is magnetic, so when you're not using it, it "sticks" flush to the back.
- It has pockets on the inside front cover. If you're travelling, you can put your passport/ID here.
- Awesome quality! Genuine leather... probably nicer than most cases you'd find on eBay.

CONS:
- I had mine custom made with a different finish, so it took exactly 20 business days (28 actual days) to get to me in Toronto (it's manufactured and shipped from France). For custom cases, they advertise delivery in "15-20 business days" to Ontario (and probably most parts of Canada). I should note that they also advertise shipping in 2-3 business days worldwide for any items that are NOT custom made (and in stock... these are usually the black, "normal"-finish leather variation.)
- The price. I'm almost embarassed to say how much I paid... lol. But none of you know me so...
It cost me C$58.62 + C$19.43 for shipping = $70.42
I know... that's almost half the price of the damn reader, and I'm sure I'll get a few replies telling me how silly I am. What can I say, I was on a hunt for the perfect case! I wanted something that was "official" quality, and was tired of waiting for Kobo to release one.
But the bright side is that I think I found the perfect one!
I should also point out that that's actually a discounted price. I used a coupon code:
generationmp3
This got me %15 off my entire order. Had I not used it, it would have been more expensive.

SO, given the price, it's probably not for most people. But if you're indulgent/impulsive like me, or really want to customize your case... then, you're welcome lol

I've posted some pics of the fit and features too (sorry, I was forced to use a crappy camera). My Kobo is white with a custom gelaskin on it, but this case would probably look better with a black Kobo.

My apologies for the long post!
any more feedback on this? Any issues with the reader staying in the case?

Just wondering.

That's not a proper case. What that is is a sleeve. Uselsss for when you have the reader out of the sleeve. Take it back and get a proper case.

Looking at this case at the moment. My newly purchased Kobo is going nowhere until a case of some form surrounds it!
