EXCELLENT! Loved it!

I enjoyed it a lot! Some of the quick promo shots of Matt Smith didn't impress me, but seeing more of him on-screen, I got into him fairly quickly. Liked the story (though not the look of Prisoner 0 so much--cheesy!), and I loved the way the Doctor, at the end, introduced the aliens (and, by extension, the audience) to him. "Basically, run." That was classic!

(Also glad I made my wife agree to a matinee showing of Clash of the Titans, so we could see it "live.")

For some reason, a few things niggled at me.
Suddenly the Doctor is naff at getting to different times accurately, or knowing straight away where and when he is.
Also, I didn't much care for the showing of previous Doctors, nor the physical appearance of the guard species (Prisoner 0 was okay though).
The 'pimped out' TARDIS was a little unnecessary - and a human typewriter? Strange!
And changing the appearance of the Time Vortex was unneeded too.
Also, I felt the 'tasting everything again' thing was gratuitous (and for some reason Amelia doesn't react to it or comment, which is strange too).
Where was this little girl's supervision? How do you leave a little girl alone in a house like that? - I don't buy it.
Are we meant to all be in idle speculation about who Amy was marrying or what?

You may have a point there. Spoiling spoilers? I tried not to 'spoil' things too much I thought - after all, unless you've seen it it doesn't make a lot of sense really.

Some new episodes are great (I love the second one), some are not so great. But overall it's still the same good Doctor.

KK, just go watch it already. It's an hour you will be glad you spent on it.

I liked the retro TARDIS. The round lights in the walls, more angular, even the typewriter were allusions back to the various earlier incarnations of it. I hope that all of the mentions of the swimming pool and the cloister bells ringing will mean we will see more of the TARDIS than in the last few Doctors.

For those of us that don't have access to BBC America, the new Dr. Who is available through iTunes. (Unfortunately they seem to be a week behind with each episode.) It looks good on the iPad or you could play it through an HDMI cable from iTunes on your PC to your TV.
