I saw that a few days ago and it's making things hard. I have to admit, my desire to purchase that Dell XT2 I've been eyeing is like at frenzy level. I'm trying to wait for the first to see if they'll throw out another coupon but it's getting tough now.

You probably shouldn't talk to me then, I'm a bad influence when it comes to gadgets.

Me too. I mean thing is there is like a switch. Earlier in the thread I was scouring for the right target. Now that I think I've found it, I'm just hovering over head. Option is to get it or wait for a deal and get it. Not getting it would involve tragedy. Knock on wood.

I think I'll probably manage to be good and wait until june, by that time the ipad will be out in europe and the first slates from the likes of msi and asus will have arrived and I can make a more definite choice before I buy, but stuff like comicrack getting good updates while the best comic reader on the ipad getting banned isn't helping matters.

What was the best comic reader on the ipad? The marvel one or something else?

The marvel one is aimed at selling you comics on a per issues basis so isn't very interesting since they are still trying to flog you old comics, there were a couple that would let you load cbr/cbz files like comicrack, but the best one was called comicreader mobi and the developer was doing something that was supposedly a bit iffy and got banned for a year.

As far as the ipad, marvel need to wise up and port their subscription service over to it because beyond people trying it out, it just doesn't make sense to pay so much per issue for old content.

I really wish Marvel and DC had some sort of subscription service for recent books.

Marvel's digital comics unlimited isn't bad, if they make an effort to fill in the needless gaps in older storylines and gradually bring it a bit closer to matching the release dates of the paper editions it seems pretty close to the ideal system as long as somebody didn't mind only renting the comics rather than owning them outright.

Has anyone gotten their hands on the Asus t101mt yet? I'm seriously torn between the T91 and T101. Help! Help!

I found this really nice tablet PC called viliv s7. Starting at around $600 on Ebay but comes in a ultra portable format only weighing 800 grams with a 7 inch screen running 1024x600 with Windows XP and capable of running video in 720p.

Here's the link to official product page:

And here's a YouTube demo of the browsing experience with the s7:

7 inch is a little small to view a whole comic page on the screen......my 9 inch works very well but a 10-11 inch would be ideal
