It's basically about people taking liberties, from a poorly-assumed, ahead-of-themselves status of acquaintance between you. So, if someone I once knew 15 years ago at a former workplace looks me up on Facebook and, remembering we'd occasionally have empathetic conversations about our employment environment, says "Hey, I might come up and stay at your place for a week of par-tay-ing. Great, yeah?", I'd say they're humping the buffalo.
