There is no search function on the Pocket PRO yet. Maybe it will come in a firmware upgrade later.

Allowing for the huge upside of the Pocket PRO, and the price, there has to be something that will come in subsequent releases.

The BeBook is the Europe release, although a different company. I believe Astak will ship to Europe from their US base.

Most likely any company currently selling Hanlin V3's will also sell the V5, for example this will be the BeBook Mini.

See Support for EZ Reader devices outside North America. If you import from the US, then I think VAT gets added at customs so don't forget to allow for this.

Yes, Astak cannot formally sell thru retail stores in Europe.

There is a European distributor of basically the same device. However, they do not offer colors and we do.

ALL European and International customers can buy any EZ Reader product from www.astak.com. That uses PayPal and will be able to get your unit shipped pronto. The site is up and working and many have already done their pre-sale on it.

We finally got in enough black Pocket PRO that we were able to spend yesterday taking the electronic guts from the black units and putting them into the colored plastic halves. It is a job; so do not try this at home! They went out to the professional photographer late yesterday; and we will be posting those pictures of the color choices of Pocket PRO very soon!

The color choices are:

All you have to do is add AA, AE and AP as options in the state drop-down for domestice orders. AND make sure they ship via USPS. It doesn't cost a penny more for shipping.

A Short Treatise on APO/FPOs
For those that do not know - APO and FPO addresses are for service to US Military and State Department activities over-seas. There is a collection point on the east coast (NJ, I think) and one on the west coast (LA area). When a vendor ships an item to an APO/FPO address, it goes via USPS as far as the nearest collection point. That is what the shipping charges are based on. Once it arrives at the collection point, it enters the military's mail system and makes it's way to the individual. The system isn't speedy, and packages DO get lost (or pilfered), but as far as the vendor is concerened, it's much the same as sending a package across the state.

Almost all major online vendors offer service to APO/FPO addresses (Amazon.com is a LIFESAVER). Some venors refuse to ship to APO/FPO addresses for political reasons, some are just unaware, still others don't want to mess with their 'store-front', and a few just don't trust the system (they may have been burned once or twice).

One caveat - APO and FPO shipments do require a customs form to be prepared for the shipment since the package will ultimatly be leaving the US. This is just a formality, but it is an extra step that may throw a wrench in a well-oiled, high volume distribution system.

As a former Air Force member who spent 4 years in Germany, PLEASE add the APO/FPOs to the list.

It serves not only military members, but their families who are stationed with them. Families, meaning children! This is the ONLY way to get mail, unless the family has someone in the States who will order it, then repackage it to be sent to the APO.

Let's support our Military who are supporting us.

@Robertb Couple of questions. How do you skip the flash intro.

My daughter asked me for an ereader and I'm seriously considering this ereader. It has some of the great features like multiple format support, ease of use(installing books and reading books), color, TTS, portable, and durable. However I cannot get past the flash because our firewall is blocking flash because it has a security flaw. Flash will not be enabled until Adobe fixes this bug.

As a parent the one issue you are missing that is a must is a dictionary support, I cannot tell you how important this is. As an adult this feature is very useful, but for children this feature is a must.

That does not mean anything. The intermediate pages are not displayed in the case so it is not a measure of the display performance at all.

YOU are absolutely right and I am ashamed of us!! I spent three years on a Nike Hercules (Rings of Supersonic Steel) site in Germany where even the birds would not go. IF it was not for the Hurtz Defender club papers I would have gone nuts.

Realize, please, that we have two relatively independent factories and I have brought this up many times. IF it seems like I am ignoring the point... I am not. I am one cog in a lengthy machine.

Nobody has been as clear as you on this dictionary request... your post is heartfelt. I will try again. The problem is that almost all eBook Readers, including ours, are made in China (or Taiwan). To them, for some reason, they do not see it the way I write it. They seem to not understand dictionary support.

Let me try again to address this issue! Astak and its factories have been quite good at listening to Forum members. I will actually send them your post to back me up.
