Erm... I have the "rabbit" in this case (the Muffin Man), but I'm the one who pays. I'm the one who has an income to pay with. Been that way for at least 15 years of our marriage. Just sayin'.

(I just remembered that the Muffin Man was born in the year of the rabbit!)

Is photography considered "handiwork"? If so, I guess I'd like to share my favourite photographs which I took. If not, then, errr, these are not the droids you're looking for.

The yellow one in the picture below is probably the oldest one I currently have being somewhere between 10 to 15 years old. That one was an experiment in programming an artifical insect.

The red one is more recent. He has bluetooth for digital communications (with my PC and subsequently my lights and appliances), a voice for vocal communication, a digital compass and PID motor control for navigation and sonar and IR for collision avoidance. Oh and the cat loves to play with him because he reacts to moving objects. Again all custom code.

Right that's my geeky Show and Tell, sorry they are not pretty but it is what I do when I am not reading.

Oh, now see .... I LOVE those!!! I wouldn't know where to start. My photography and some of my paintings are over at Renderosity.com (under the name "rickymaveety" .... I know, what a shock.

I like to make furniture, but I've already posted photos of more of the recent stuff, and some of the older stuff as well.

I make quilts, but I haven't made one in a long time. I've got one that's pieced, but I did the piecing 5 years ago, and then I moved, and now I don't know what I'm going to do with it.

Here's a still frame from a movie that I was working on .... until I got to busy and my main render PC went goofy on me. It was called "Chain Reaction" and was all about suns coming to colorful life and the touch of one causing the same to occur with the others. Problem was, I couldn't get the right to use the music. So, between that and the PC, I dropped the project.

Ok, I took some photos of some of the items I've made that I still own. (I give most of my handiwork away as gifts. That's part of why I find it so restful to make things.)

What we have here:
  • Cell phone charms I made as freebies for expansion sets to my card game
  • Experiments with mixing different colors of flexible polymer clay (only comes in 8 colors)
  • Earrings I've made
  • Necklaces I've made
  • Ah... a little geek project involving slices of "watermelon" radish in vinegar (right) and baking soda (left)... ok, not craft, but I had to put SOMETHING up after those splendid robots!

You'll need a computer and a computer printer. You print out the sheet on the printer - odd number pages on one side, even on the other side. Black ink will last maybe 400 pages, front and back. You do the math for your printer's cost. I don't use the cheapo ink reloads, because if I'm gonna do all the work, I want the book to last...
If you print a lot of black only page, you should perhaps consider buying a laser printer. Their cost per page is much cheaper than Inkjet printers.
and print quality for text is a lot better than even the best inkjet.

Even the laser color printer are affordable nowadays. there are models below 200$.

On those necklaces, I made the twosilver pendants (second and 4th from left) from silver clay. The 4th one has silver clay mixed with enamel on a base of silver clay. I made the glass beads on the 3rd from left -- those are actually my "rejects." I wear that necklace with a pair of patchwork pants. The black pendant 6th from left was a river stone I drilled through with a Dremel tool. The turquoise necklace next to it has some wire wrap beads that I made. The rest of my necklaces are mostly just stringing in patterns or whatever.

Oh-- I meant to include this woven shawl with some of my pottery, too. Also, here's another cell phone charm with thermochromatic beads (like "mood rings"), a bookmark with beads (which doesn't get much use these days), and, finally, my "desk."

And Jinian, the Evil Kitty, of course.

Here a photo of an homemade desk. Some parts, especially parts of the drawer block were salvaged on an old damaged desk. I made others piece of furniture, but this is the best one so far

I needed a big desk as I have a big monitor, and all the desk in shops were too low and narrow.
Needless to say, its usual state is not as tidy as on the photo

Those photographs are gorgeous. The colors and the framing are amazing. This one in particular http://bertold.zenfolio.com/p695324777/e3c9b239f moved me. So much so that I'm going to write a short story based on it.

Bertold, I know nothing about photography. But, your pictures touched me. The girl is exquisite. The baby? Even more gorgous than my granddaughter.

I got goosebumps looking at your gallery. Thanks for sharing and showing us some of the beauty still out there.
