Now that would be truly interesting!

Even though I "own" several PDAs and have access to an iPod Touch, I no longer use them to read full novels/ebooks. I'm spoiled by the larger screen size of my dedicated ebook readers, so if you had asked what devices I actually use, then the poll results would be a bit different...

Thanks for this (and your other) poll!
I didn't click ipod touch because I don't read on it (figured that was the point of this poll)

That was the intention of the poll, to find out which device people read on.

Now i"m second guessing myself here. BUT I'm thinking people are reading on the devices they list, even if only sometimes, so maybe its okay?

Sounds wonderful, and I love your avatar and name.

Crap. Now I'm going to have to go look at that Acer Aspire 1...........

Yes, it was, but for multi-device gadget-freaks, like me, I try them and move on if I'm not satisfied with the reading experience. Case in point, I still enjoy reading on my heavy, obsolete color LCD device, even though, an e-ink device is nicer/lighter/better!

So while I have Sony PDAs or an iPod Touch, I don't currently/actually use them to read anymore. For those with only a PDA or iPhone, there isn't the same issue. For those, yes, the device you have IS the device you use.

The Sony has in the past been the most popular choice among MR members. But it's almost certainly not the most popular reading device among all device owners. I think it was discussed elsewhere that most Kindle users (and there a bunch of them now) don't know that MobileRead even exists.

Good, but I find it very odd. I was 100% sure Kindle would have x2 more users.

Well, I hate to say it but Sony owners could not comfortably live with their Readers without some significant help. Sony made a device that is great hardware but, at least initially, was crippled with several limitations (poor PDF support is one example). They have since fixed some of those problems. But the Kindle was released with fewer such problems and so their users had less reason to look for help from a forum like MobileRead.

Kindle readers are the shy and retirin types, who really don't like calling attention to themselves or things about them. You can see that in the way they have their signatures...

That was my thinking, but then I realised that out of 3 converts of my making, none have registered over here, hence none have voted. So....we are missing Sony owners as well.
