Not yet, although there are many alternatives available here at MR. I've said in the past that I find Kobo's decision not to offer dictionaries for sale as Amazon does rather strange, but the upgrade of the default dictionary to one that's actually fit for purpose is a huge step forward.

Maybe with the changes to the dictionary code in the new firmware that Kobo may start selling dictionaries.

Is anyone else finding that the My Words feature no longer show definitions if you click the words you added under the My Words tab, under Activity?

I don’t have a My Words tab under Activity. I have a Reading Stats tab and an Awards tab.

Well, that was my complaint.

It has to start with dicthtml even when it's in the custom dictionary directory.
And dicthtml part of the name shows up in the dictionary list if what's after it isn't two language codes. I think at least one of these things should not be true, but it's only a minor cosmetic wart really.

The My Words feature does not show by default. You need to edit the Kobo eReader.conf file and make a change.

Open the .kobo\Kobo\Kobo eReader.conf file with a text editor that respects Unix EOLs (for Windows, I use Notepad++).

Look for the [FeatureSettings] header. If you see it, add "MyWords=true" under that heading (remove the quotes).

If you don't find [FeatureSettings], then add:

once you've added a word to MyWords you may have a problem reading the definition in this particular firmware. i can't define any words from MyWords, on a positive note the view in book feature works fine.

edit/for clarity, i'm not sure if the read definition works fine with (only) the stock firmware, i do have some patches installed.

yes, for example I used for a dictionary the same double language codes

is there a list for all the codes we can use?
