Thank you. I have no time now, but I will study it later.

I'm talking about when browsing My Books/Authors. Currently, only list view is available. On the Nook, you can have thumbnails with the author's name underneath. And if you have multiple books by the same author, the books are stacked with a little number in the upper corner. Let me attach a picture...
Copy, now I understand what you're saying. Agree, would love to have a thumbnails view option.

If i'm reading this correctly, then you do have this thumbnail view option on the forma.

Right. Thumbnail view is only available in Books and in Series (which I didn't notice until this most recent firmware). In Authors or Collections, only list view is available.

I checked on my Clara and the only single books that show up in Series are books that are marked as part of a series in Calibre, even if I only have that one book.

A book that truly stands alone and has no series info in Calibre, doesn't appear in series view on my Clara (at least not that I've noticed so far).

I particularly enjoy foreign westerns. There's something about seeing the conventions of the Old West interpreted though other cultures. I love the Italian Spaghetti Westerns and their literary counterpart, the British Piccadilly Cowboys. Lots of those old books have been released as ebooks through a company called Piccadilly Publishing.
Thanks! 😊

Okay, I'm sure this has been discussed lots of times, but I can't find the information on how to downgrade to the old firmware... Can someone point me in the right direction?
(Edited to say: never mind. I found some info, and it says if you downgrade you can't use the wifi anymore or it'll just go back to re-upgrading. I think I'll take the wifi and just put up with the annoyance... )

If you look up internet from search while reading, Wifi is then turned on. You can't turn it off.
Then when you go the Home screen, it syncs, EVEN THOUGH you unticked automatic sync in setup. You get an update download if you didn't want one. Without knowing! (a) You can forget the WiFi is now on, or (b) it's slow and fiddly to turn off.

Then later the screen goes blank in the middle of reading as it updates.

The workaround is to ONLY open a book from the collections screen, not Home, then when you leave book (and you CAN'T go direct to Home because the GUI is brain dead) you are back at collections. It never syncs there, so you can turn off the WiFi.
WHY no Main Menu icon and WiFi icon when you bring up menu bar in reading?

Since I got my 1st Kobo, the H2O original, they have fixed bugs and improved highlighting. But the GUI is just getting poorer.

I do appreciate my Kobo Libra, but really on GUI so many companies seem to have lost the plot, not just Kobo.

The new changes are a positive. I prefer the buttons at the bottom to the old hamburger menu.
Me too, love the tabs and actually like them better than the tiles. Much cleaner IMHO.

I have to agree. Seems the interface design has become a case of form over function. It looks great in adverts, but it's not so nice to use sometimes. Once you're in a book, it's fine, but actually getting to your books is less user friendly than it used to be. The new tabs are a step in the right direction.

Actually, we still have tiles. Just 4, and all the same size, instead of 10-20 all different sizes.

Hard disagree. The current homescreen not only looks better but presents your options in a more logical way.

People tend to forget those tiles would change themselves unless you took steps outside of the provided settings. They were not uniform in shape or placement creating a much less pleasing UI/UX.

I also fail to see how getting to your books is remotely difficult in the current UI. Going to ‘My Books’ puts you back in the view you were last in, and gives you very clear options for navigating to your book.
