I still have 520 left indexing . I left on for hours last night to help but it only went through like 45 apparently. Eventually.... Right now the battery is down again to 22% from 70% yesterday after a few hours of reading, wi-fi and indexing. Won't be able to really test battery until all this indexing is done. Sighs. |

As has been advised several times now in this thread, you should leave the Kindle connected to a wall charger in order to get indexing done quickly. The indexing process runs enormously more rapidly when the Kindle is connected to external power.

That has most definitely NOT been my experience. For example, my Kindle Voyage indexes extremely fast whether connected to a wall charger or not; however, my Kindle Oasis 2 indexes at a snail's pace while connected to a wall charger. And it's even worse if it goes to sleep (of course while still connected to a wall charger), whereas the Voyage indexing speed matters not if awake or asleep. Obviously YMMV.

				Magic catalog

I read on an Amazon review that the experimental browser can only go to Amazon and Wikipedia. I was wondering if this will affect the use of the The Magic Catalog of Project Gutenberg E-book. It is an awesome resource that I've used on every Kindle I've owned to access legal free books straight from the Kindle with no pc needed. Would you mind trying and letting us know if it works?

When you're on the Home Page, enter a nonsensical word like gshasgfa, and search. When on the search page select text in books. It will show how many are indexing.

				Sleep magnet

I may have missed the discussion on this but has anyone figured out where the sleep magnet (s) are in the new PW?

Well, I completed my first book on the new PW. The book was good (Fools and Mortals by Bernard Cornwell) and the PW performed beautifully. I also notice that it charges very quickly and I'm very happy with it so far. I used to have a Kindle Fire but, after less than 2 years, it stopped taking a charge. Indexing is the process by which the Kindle creates the index that allows it to do search books efficiently. When you do a search, it's the index that gets searched, not the actual book.

Oh, gotcha. Thanks, Harry. It seems to search well. I give it another test run by looking up my next book.
