Ordered mine on 8/31, from what I read didn't really expect it until 15th at the earliest, started to wonder how to contact Kobo about the order since it didn't show up in my account...

And then it just arrived today at the office, without warning, notification or tracking (in the greater L.A. area)

I have tried many an eBook reader over the past couple of decades, and this one might really be IT for casual reading, big enough screen, hires enough, snappy; I just dumped ~300 epubs on there and "Processing..." took barely a minute if that, much faster than my other eInk readers.

But most importantly the color temperature option. Ever since Apple introduced it on their tablets (I know others came before) I have reaaaally grown to love it in the evenings, and to get this on a front-lit eInk reader that you can also use in bright daylight d^_^b

The only issue is the case/cover. I got a cheap adaptable 7-10" one from Amazon, it gets the job done, with PLENTY of protection left all around, but I'll look for something svelter.

UPS just sent me an email asking if I want to sign online for my delivery tomorrow! Makes me hopeful that will work.

Yay!!! I have it in my hands. Noticed that it's fully charged! Just copying books over quickly for a quick read. Love the feel and lightness of the reade. It's incredibly light. Noticed though that the outside edges are thinner to give a more thin feel.. but that does seem to make it easier to hold?

The giddiness has returned...

Congrats!

And just want to mention, mine was delivered on 9/8 and I just received an email from Kobo today (9/13) with my tracking number.

Now I'm afraid of what this paradox means.

I ordered mine on 31st August, and apparently it's waiting for me at home. FedEx stated it was due to be delivered tomorrow, so that's a nice surprise too!

Congrats, Sharkus

I was surprised my note to leave it was not taken as proof of authorization to leave it on the stoop.

But that's all good.

Red face Got a shipping notice!

Bought the KA1 and sleepcover last tuesday morning on the German Kobo site; finally got a shipping notice this evening promising a delivery by TNT this thursday "no later than 6 p.m.". Apparently it's being shipped from Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

Obviously, Kobo needs some serious revamping of its customer service methods.

You better lock up your reader. I think it disappears 48 hours after the shipping notice! Ha ha!

Just got a shipping notice for my delivery to the UK. Courier is TNT. There won't be customs duty to pay; UK law prevents Kobo masquerading as UK seller in that sense.

My KA1 arrived as announced on thursday afternoon. While I like the device itself, I'm a bit underwhelmed by the Kobo Sleep Cover, especially for the asking price.

I got mine on Wednesday without an issue. I was home, since it arrived so late in the day, but they just gently knocked, then walked away.

I have some lighting issues on mine, so I am going to try for an exchange. But no battery issues!
