This would fall under my "general", for me. It will be cracked, and than a new DRM version will come out, and the cycle continues... I don't want to constantly be researching if DRM has been uncracked again, when will it be recracked, is it ok to ask on this website, can a link be posted, when did that change, I need to update to the latest version of Python, ... So for me, the DRM "cannot be removed"; it is not worth the effort.

I just want to read.

I think the people saying "Don't worry, they can't stop pirating" are missing the point. People here are interested in having usable backups and format shifting for other reading devices. We aren't interested in taking a screen shot of every page, or typing in the whole book, or... for every book we own. If we were going to pirate, we wouldn't buy the books in the first place.

So, yes, DRM is never going to stop hard-core pirating. It may stop what most people responding to the poll here want to do, though. Unfortunately, the latter seems to be what the encryption DRM is aimed at stopping.
