So far, Kobo and Amazon are the only places I've figured out how to put together a long list of unrelated books. At Kobo, list all of the ISBNs in the search bar, separated by spaces. At Amazon, separate them with a "pipe" ("|"). B&N works with "or", but only up to three separate books. |

Author Larry Osbourne Explores the Story of Daniel for Help in Today's Society--FREE!
The price is good through tomorrow, April 15.
Thriving in Babylon: Why Hope, Humility, and Wisdom Matter in a Godless Culture. By Larry Osbourne. Rated 4.6 stars from 109 reviews, at Amazon. Print list price $15.99; digital list price $15.99; Kindle price now $0.00. David C. Cook, publisher. 224 pages. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RKTCXEU/. I noticed that this ebook is available, free, at Christianbook, also (http://www.christianbook.com/thrivin...18/pd/74730EB?) (DRM Free ePub). It's probably free at all of the usual places. Book Description Meet a man forced to live in a fast changing and godless society. He faced fears about the future, concern for his safety, and the discouragement of world that seemed to be falling apart at warp speed. Sound familiar? His name was Daniel, and with the power of hope, humility, and wisdom, he not only thrived, he changed an empire while he was at it. Though he lived thousands of years ago, he has a much to teach us today. Even in Babylon, God Is in Control In Thriving in Babylon, Larry Osborne explores the “adult” story of Daniel to help us not only survive – but actually thrive in an increasingly godless culture. Here Pastor Osborne looks at: - Why panic and despair are never from God - What true optimism looks like - How humility disarms even our greatest of enemies - Why respect causes even those who will have nothing to do with God to listen - How wisdom can snatch victory out of the jaws of defeat For those who know Jesus and understand the full implications of the cross, the resurrection, and the promises of Jesus, everything changes – not only in us, but also in our world. Have a Blended Family? This FREE Book Says that It Can Help It Succeed.
This book has great ratings. I couldn't come up with as many ratings (13) as I like to have (at least 20) in order to have the degree of confidence in them that I like to have, though.
The price (or maybe I should say, "no price" ha) is good through tomorrow, April 15. Beyond the Brady Bunch: Hope and Help for Blended Families. By Debbie Alsdorf; Ray Alsdorf. Rated 4.5 stars, but from only 8 reviews, at Amazon; rated 4.33, but from only 3 ratings, at GoodReads; rated 4.5, but from only 2 reviews at Christianbook. Print list price N/A; digital list price $14.99; Kindle price now $0.00. David C. Cook, publisher. 243 pages. "New edition" (2010). http://www.amazon.com/Beyond-Brady-B...dp/B005S2D9JE/. Christianbook has this ebook free, also (http://www.christianbook.com/beyond-...41/pd/14000EB?) (DRM Free ePub). It's probably free from all of the usual sources. Book Description Blending a family is far more messy and complicated than any television show portrays. Beyond the Brady Bunch is a heart book, not a how-to book. Christians who find themselves in the midst of step-family life often feel hopeless and far from God, struggling with grief and unforgiveness. From personal experience the authors have found that all the how-to steps in the world don’t work if there isn’t first a heart change. Speaking with honesty and vulnerability they share their own mistakes and how God dealt with their hearts. The book will help stretch hearts, minds and homes past the image of “perfect” and another “happily ever after” into the hope of God’s promise to restore, heal and rebuild. Fill out a short (it's very short) survey from CrossWay, and get the ebook What Is Biblical Theology, by Jim Hamilton, free.
This appears to be the full version of the book, not some abridgment, excerpt, or such. The book is rated 4.5 stars from 71 reviews, at Amazon. Here's the webpage to go to. When you click on "Get the e-Book," you'll be taken to a webpage with the short survey. Complete it, click on "submit," and you'll be taken to a webpage with links to Kindle mobi, ePub, and PDF versions of the ebook. You can download all three if you are so inclined. Here's a free PDF from the Latimer Trust, on the Creation-Evolution controversy.
It's entitled Creation or Evolution: A False Antithesis? The authors are M.W. Poole and G.J. Wenham. I couldn't find the book at either Amazon or GoodReads, so I have no ratings information to share with you. I recognize the name of author G (Gordon) J. Wenham, however. He is a prolific writer of highly rated books. The book appears not to be sold new in a physical form anywhere, at least in the United States. But, out of curiosity, I checked my favorite used book meta search engine, Bookfinder.com, for it. Curious how much the least expensive used copy of one is? It's $42.07, shipped to the U.S. from the U.K. I honestly don't know what position(s) that the book takes on creation-evolution issues. However, The Latimer Trust "is a conservative Evangelical research organisation within the Church of England . . . ." Unfortunately, I can't give you a direct link to the PDF, because the Latimer Trust won't let you access it from a direct link (that's the first time that I've ever experienced that, I think). So, go to this webpage first. The link to the book should be the third one down from the top of the list. I believe this to be a legal free download, regardless of which side of the Pond that you reside on, or whatever Pond it is, because it is a free download from the publisher's website, as shown at the link referenced above. |

This study is concerned with some of the main ideas and arguments of two views which are currently widespread among Christians in the UK and elsewhere. These are often called ‘creationism’ and ‘theistic evolution.’ This study will certainly not answer all the questions which arise, but it may be of help in differentiating between pseudoproblems and real issues. The strategy will be to consider the reasons for some of the anxieties which Christians have expressed about evolution, in order to see how far these reasons constitute genuine grounds for regarding evolutionary theory as incompatible with biblical Christianity. This book also includes a chapter by Gordon Wenham on interpreting the text of Genesis. == |

Here's his list of publications from the Kings College, University of London site https://www.kcl.ac.uk/sspp/departmen...blications.pdf I would suppose it's a fairly standard British Anglican approach and I think from the references that I have read him before (papers in Physics Education) Don't think he would find much favour with YECs. Muslim creationists next ? |

Doesn't Amazon have a policy where they will refund the difference, within x number of days, if you let them know about it? Personally, the little bit of difference above is not worth the trouble to me, but to some people it might be.

I don't think they offer refunds plus the "tell us about a lower price" doesn't apply across countries.

I was basing that on some website that I heard about, although it's been several years ago now, that you would give them what you purchased at Amazon and they would automatically notify you if the price went down in the set time period (30 days, I think). I thought that it was based upon an Amazon policy. However, that could have been limited to the U.S., Amazon may have changed its policy, the policy may not have included ebooks, etc. |
