http://www.1dollarscan.com/
I've used this company multiple times to scan books of dead authors whose books I would like to read. I have vision damage and can't read paperbacks. I chose dead authors because, in general, if none of their books have shown up yet in ebook, the chances of them showing up are zilch. In many cases, they are permanently backlisted, orphaned or there are no heirs to follow up (I know, bad grammar). In a couple of cases, I had cookbooks with broken spines scanned because they could not be purchased on the used market at reasonable prices and were unusable in the damaged condition. For the novels though, I use ABBYY Transformer to convert to epub. It's not as good as Finereader, but does a doable job. Note: 1dollarscan does NOT scan any books published by McMillian so don't even ask. Even if you live outside of the US, they have methods that you can say, buy a used book at Amazon and have it shipped to 1dollarscan's offices. Then you download the book from your account. It's explained at the website. |

If they were new novels I might, but for replacements of books I've already got, no.
By the way, have you heard anything about why she apparently stopped writing? |

No idea, but the timing is such that her son was likely in high school and she just became a busy mom. Maybe she just didn't have any fresh ideas left and didn't want to diminish the series by putting out crappy follow-up books?

Her most recent books King Kelson's Bridge - 2000 In the King's Service - 2003 Childe Morgan - 2006 The King's Deryni - 2014 She started in 1970 and put out a new Deryni book once every 3 years up through 1994. She did the Adept series from 1991 to 1996, and then the Templar series in 1998 and 2000. Add in some stand alone books (Two Crowns for America - 1996 and Saint Patrick's Gargoyle - 2001 were both pretty enjoyable) and you see she's been working at a fairly steady rate since 1970. |

I remember that book from my childhood! I didn't know it was made into a cartoon.

I didn't think I'd ever see it so I was delighted when After Me the Deluge by David Forrest became available on Kindle.
It's a wonderful book. |

Two wishes soon to be at least partially granted --
Mr. and Mrs. North mysteries by Frances and Richard Lockridge -- one has been available for a while but thirteen more are being released on March 8. They're listed for pre-order on Amazon and Kobo for 9.99 each (8.69 for Kobo VIP). The publisher is Mysterious Press/Open Road so presumably they'll be discountable at Kobo. Then on March 15 there will be fourteen mysteries by Barbara Paul -- same publisher and prices. I hope there'll be another decent multi-use coupon around. |
