I'm using an Aura and I found that adjusting the light using two fingers seems smoother now compared to 3.15. There was a slight lag before so I sometimes had to readjust several times before I get the amount of light I want. This lag seemed to have lessened greatly in the new firmware to the point that I sometimes don't notice it if it's there.

Maybe the answer is automatic brightness adjustment, like on a kindle voyage. But that would require a light sensor. Oh well, in a future device..

The light needs to be fully adjustable and not according to what a device or a sensor thinks it should be. |

I'm with Meera and Davidfor on this one--I love the ability to quickly adjust the brightness on my Aura HD by swiping next to the bezel-- use it frequently. I wouldn't want a light sensor--have a Voyage with that and can't seemto get it to work for me. Have ended up turning it off.
I would like the ability to quickly adjust font sizes on my Kobo as well though. Maybe with an up/down swipe on the right side of the bezel. ![]() |

Give us those choices to make the changes on the screen, but also give us the choice to enable those features or disable them, and Kobo could make everyone happy. |

in 3.17.3 css font-variant: small-caps still doesnt work. when they fix this BASIC bugg and some others html tag bugs then thay can think of fixing some o the issues considering touch screen driver ... etc
It is a bit embarrassing thay they didnt fix that basic html (css) bugs Nonetheless im happy with my Aura HD (still loving it) Last edited by forster01; 08-28-2015 at 04:59 PM. |

Unfortunately, I constantly experience kepubs with all kind of publisher "tweaks" so that I often need to readjust the font size from one kepub to another. I would be grateful if I just could leave my font settings untouched. So far I refrained from running every kepub through Calibre.

I think it's the Adobe render software which doesn't support font-variant, rather than Kobo. It's been that way on every epub reader (Sony, Pocketbook, Kobo) I've owned in the last 6 years. We live in hope
![]() If it matters a lot to you it's not particularly difficult to sideload a true small-caps font on the Kobo and reference it from standard epubs. |

im using fakessmallcaps by writer2epub, but css syntax that is not supported makes me mad.....
also if one paragraph is formated with other embedded font, there is no way that in the middle of paragraph the tag <font style="font-family:serif;letter-spacing: 0px;">yyy</font> works (it doesnt), which is perfectly normal html tag... I can post an epub sample if someone is iterested in in looking at it... Last edited by forster01; 08-28-2015 at 05:38 PM. |

If you're trying to say that you can't use a true small-caps font for just part of a paragraph then you're wrong - I do it all the time for standard epubs. But you do have to use a css combination of font-family and @font-face to do it plus you also need to use the Kobo Patcher to prevent the Kobo force-overriding font-family for <p> tags. I can understand that most people won't bother doing this, but it is easily do-able for those who want it enough. |
