Good news!

With Box, with the free account, there's no simple way of synching files besides manually upload them.
The OneDrive wants to be too simple and do everything behind the scenes, that it's hard to control. Besides, it doesn't let me choose where to hold the files and I use a SSD as my primary partition, I don't want to use it to store my ebooks.
I like Dropbox, but the space is very limited and I use it for other things, there's no space for my library.
Google Drive has plenty of space. It's fast and let's me choose a folder anywhere I want in my computer and keeps everything in synch.

I've already asked in the linked thread, but what's the issue with Drive destroying calibre's library? I would like to use it as my primary library and backup into a RARed file every once in a while. But even if I should just keep a copy in the Drive's folder, it would still be better for me.

Edit: already checked your other reply, thanks.

Why? I have the Box sync client installed and it works well. I used it to upload a 2GB library.

Again, I see something different. My OneDrive folder is where I put it, on my secondary drive. And as far as I can tell, syncing behaves just like Box and Dropbox.

As all do except Amazon Cloud Drive, which isn't generally released yet in CC because they are still "testing" it.

Perhaps I should say "As do all when using Windows". I am running sync clients from Box, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Google Drive. I can't say whether or not these clients are available on other operating systems.

I answered in the other thread.

I've tried to install it, but it asks for a paying account. The free account doesn't have Box Sync feature. If you have, then I don't know what I'm doing wrong...

Then I guess it's a user problem I can't find any option to change the folder. And it's all through the horrible Metro UI (I'm on Windows 8.1).

Take a look at this link: https://www.box.com/personal/file-sync/. IIRC that is where I downloaded it, and I have a personal account.

I run it on Win7. When I install and set it up I see the following screen, where I can change the folder. I have no idea where that screen would be on Win8.

There is an other well known alternative you may have forgotten.
MEGA offers 50 GB free storage and has an auto sync application for PC. I use it since years for large Gigabyte files and never had problems.
Perhaps an idea to add MEGA to CC if possible ?

Mega is different in that ALL content is encrypted. Downloads are decrypted client side I believe which may not be practical on all phones and tablets

Mega does not conform to my requirements for CC cloud support. Specifically it does not offer OAUTH authentication, forces client-side encryption, and it does not offer a documented REST (html) API. Any of these is enough to remove it from consideration.

While on the subject, copy.com (Barracuda Copy) also does not meet the requirements because it uses OAUTH1 instead of OAUTH2.

Well, in my case, when I download it, it asks me to enable it in my settings. When I go to settings, I get this:

You probably have the Personal Pro account? Or maybe you got in a previous promotion or something. Free accounts don't get the box sync.

To the best of my knowledge I did not get a promotion. I created this account two or three weeks ago when I developed CC's driver. It is a personal free account.

At any rate, to test this and to try to figure out why you are seeing something different, I just created a new account using the following screen.

After creating the account, when I go to the page you showed I see the following:

Size:	183.2 KB
ID:	140439

I did not download the installer from there. Instead I downloaded it from the link I previously gave you. The following two screen captures show where I downloaded the installer. I did it after I created my account, without logging in to my account.

The following screen capture shows the account characteristics of what I have after installing Box Sync. It is definitely not a pro anything account.

Sequence of screen captures while installing Box Sync. At no time did it ask me to upgrade to anything.

I have a personal account (not personal pro) on Box and have used Box Sync for a long time. When logged into the website if I click on my name at the top of the page (next to the upgrade button) one of the options in the menu that pops up is "Get Box Sync" which takes you to...

Thank you for your trouble, but...

I've tried everything, but I always end up in my screenshot above. Maybe it's different for certain countries?

I'm gonna try a new account, just to make sure.

When I was about to register with my primary email (gmail), I've found out I already had a personal account since 2011 (!). And Box Sync works with that one! Great.

Specially because, I don't remember why, that account has 50GB of space. I'm already copying my calibre library to there and then change it in Calibre.

Thanks for your support. I would have given up too soon.
