I have a Voyage and a Paperwhite 1 and Paperwhite 2. Since I got the Voyage I've been reading almost exclusively on it and I'd been thinking about getting another one as a backup and selling my Paperwhites. And then they announced the new Paperwhite.
The day of the announcement I decided to go back to the Paperwhites and see how much better I liked the Voyage. So for a couple of days I read exclusively on my Paperwhite 2. The last couple of days I've been reading entirely on my Paperwhite 1. I've finally decided that I really don't care which one I use. They're all great. The Voyage is greater because it's little. It feels better in my hand. But the Paperwhites feel fine in my hand and more and more I'm deciding I just don't care. So now I'm completely confused about what I should do. Do I really want to get another reader? Three is plenty. Then there's my "latest and greatest" syndrome. But if the Voyage is the greatest, just not the latest ... ! Why did you do this to me, Amazon! Barry |

If you don't care, the logical answer would be to keep the Voyage and sell the others.

I'd go with Harry as the longer you keep the PWs the less they are worth. Keep the Voyage and then put what you get for the two PWs to a PW3.

Seems like even the Voyage still has the supporting framework, as KUAL thankfully has been confirmed to run on the Voyage (does require serial jailbreak) -- my guess is they just won't sign anything as compatible with the Voyage. |

I've had different models of Sony Readers with page turn buttons. When I got the 650, I've used the touch screen and never looked back. I know some prefer the buttons, but the touch screen is just so much easier to use. Unless there is a physical reason, I see no reason to use the buttons which take more effort to use and limit where you can hold the Reader.

I don't need to compare the specs: I have a Voyage and a PW and I can see them side by side. The Voyage is a significantly different, and far better, reader. Significantly smaller form factor, metal case, glass (rather than plastic) screen, page turn sensors, adaptive light sensor; all better than the PW. The only difference between the PW2 and 3 is the screen, and the screen was never (for me at least) the main attraction of the Voyage.

The buttons on the Voyage are in a stupid place. I'm not sure there isn't a stupid place for buttons. Sometimes I hold my H2O lower than where the Voyage buttons are and sometimes higher. By using the touch screen, it doesn't matter how high or low I hold the H2O, I can always turn the page in either direction. Page turn buttons limits you to where you can hold the Reader.

May I ask how much time you've actually spent using one to allow you to reach this conclusion?
As you'd know if you ever had actually done so, the haptic sensor is a lot larger than a physical button; you can press any point on the lower half of the bezel to turn the page. We're not stupid Jon; it's obvious to everyone that this is just another aspect of your eternal and childish anti-Amazon whining. |

Amazing how thoroughly loyalty can blind a person...
Jon, the standard-issue premium Kobo unit is also outsold by the peasant devices. Because no one expects the premium device to be the biggest seller -- that is why it is the premium super-duper special one! ![]() |

I actually liked where the buttons were on the Sony devices. They worked well for me holding the reader with one hand with my thumb resting on the button at the bottom of the screen. On my 350 and 650 I'd use the buttons about half the time and the screen about half the time to turn pages. I haven't used a Voyage but I have a suspicion that as a result of using a PW2 and a Kobo AuraHD for the past two years, I'd very rarely use the buttons for turning pages--just too used to tapping/swiping on the screen now.
