I have not forgotten that. Google Music became my new best friend.
That happened to me, too. I ripped from CD and uploaded all my music to Amazon. Then (after the announcement) downloaded all my music from them and uploaded it to Google Music. Now that I have a Prime account I find that all that music is still stored on the Cloud at Amazon? Which is kind of odd, I thought it would have been deleted by now.

Actually, I don't think you get the 3 month trial unless you agree to the terms. Shari tried a new account without accepting the terms and she was able to use it as before -- so that's very encouraging.

Are you aware there is a multiquote feature? It is helpful when you are responding to people saying the same thing and you want to avoid making a long series of posts.

Also consider whether it is really worth it to post all those posts about posts that have been rebutted by other posts, when the posts you then post about have already rebutted those posts as well as your posts.

How much one would need to pay per year? there are still many cloud service providers who still give free cloud space.

They can give all directories in your Cloud Drive "read only" permissions -- except for the Send-To-Kindle directory -- which appears to be what they are doing. Actually, going by what I've read here, the user doesn't have direct access to writing privileges to the "Send-To" directory either -- it looks like that's handled by Amazon in the WhisperSync process. But the point seems to be that this one directory will still allow new files, directly or indirectly, without a Cloud Drive subscription.

Sorry. It was new news to me and I tend to respond as I read. I should have read all the posts first.

When I come upon a thread with pages of stuff, I usually draft my posts as I read, then wait until the end to combine-submit-or-rethink them.

Good idea. I'll see if I can try that next time. Again, sorry.

Birds are fine, but I like shelties.
But my question is..do you people use the "send to kindle" app when you want to send an article to your kindle from your pc ? I have never done this, which is the reason I am now asking. Would like to store a few documents on my kindle fire. I do have prime.

In the Help section for the Cloud Drive (About Cloud Drive Transition to Unlimited Plans), it states that Kindle personal documents no longer count against your Cloud Drive storage limits.

Nope -- I use calibre, which can send stuff to an email address. I set it up to use my email account to email books to my send-to-kindle email address.

calibre is already what I use to manage all my ereading anyway.

Granted, I mostly deal with ebooks, not web articles. But calibre can fetch news articles, and there are a number of people who seem to heavily use that feature, and ensure the news recipes are up to date, and there are recipes for many sites... so that could work very well too.

Definitely don't use the desktop send-to-kindle app (the browser extensions could be useful though) since it really has no benefits.

I use it on my blog (not on every post, although I think Books on the Knob blog did that for a while. She may still be doing it.) For long personal stories or short stories in the blog store, I enable/add the Send to Kindle button and readers can then send the post/story to their kindle directly. I have tested this. This function still works whether or not you have prime. I've had a couple of readers test it as well to make sure it works across a broader spectrum.
