I just let the 5.1 OTA update happen on my N7 2012. Wasn't really having any trouble with 5.0.2, but 5.1 definitely seems a lot snappier. Especially WRT touch response and apps opening/closing.

I force updated both my nexus 7 2012 and nexus 5 using nexus root toolkit. The Nexus 7 works a lot better actually feel it is working better than when it was on KitKat but I haven't used KitKat in long time so might be placebo. In the nexus 5 apps closing or crashing has stopped. And I haven't felt any slow down or lag with a large number of apps opened. Seems a good update I would recommend people using stock unlocked or rooted nexus devices to use it nexus root toolkit to update as you can flash the whole factory rom without loosing data. If you are unrooted and locked you can use it to update as well but will loose the data. |

My Nexus 7 2012 updated without any problems, seems to be working great. Has anybody gotten an update notification yet on Nexus 7 2013, or a Nexus 4?

my nexus 7 2012 updated today. Seems to have put an end to my problem of coolreader crashing every few pages. I use it almost exclusively for a bedtime reader so that really all that matters to me. Still love the darn thing. Drop it off the side of the bed almost every night (onto a carpeted floor) and it still keeps chugging. |

My Nexus 2012 (wifi) updated to 5.1 about 2 days ago. BIG update (over 100MB) so it took a few minutes, but the improvements are noticeable. better battery, better performance (less lag.) Chrome for Android also updated yesterday but is still the primary cause of issues for me. It tends to hang after using it for a while. Was hoping 5.1 and/or a chrome update would have addressed this...

My Nexus 7 2013 is running 5.1. I think it upgraded to that automatically from 5.0, since I didn't tell it do do so. As far as I can tell, ever since that update, the Chrome browser will crash. The screen goes black, then the app is closed and I am on my Nexus home screen. Tapping the icon brings Chrome back to where I was, nothing lost. But it is very annoying and happens very frequently. Has anyone else experienced Chrome crashing on theirs? |

From what I can find nexus 7 2013 is stuck with 5.0.2 at least for now. There are no 5.1 image on the Google developers site for our Nexus 7 2013 |

Huh...well, that's what I get for looking at it while in bed, then asking the next day. Yes it was still 5.0.1 and the 5.0.2 update was waiting. So it is updating now. Hopefully that will fix the issue.
