How do you like the larger screen? Is it nicer to be able to have more on screen then you have been used to?

I do like the larger screen, but it's more the fonts, font size and margins that I like. Also since Cloud Collections was introduced it's become almost impossible to manage a large non Amazon book collection on a Kindle. I don't mind emailing a few hundred to Amazon but I don't want to email a few thousand, including a large collection of fan fiction. Plus I use Pocket and that syncs directly on the Kobo, I have over 400 articles in Pocket alone.

It's 4am here and all I have on in the room is a side lamp. This picture were taken on a iPad with the PW2 at 16 and the Kobo H20 at 67% brightness. Without the side lamp I read the Kobo at about 12% brightness and the PW at 8.

The H20 is cream more than white but at the level is it that's fine.

I need a Kindle for travelling as I get review books by email and I can get those on my Kindle using my phone as a personal hotspot but now I have the H20 I can happily settle for a PW2, I just want to see the Voyage and decide how I like it first. If it knocks socks off the PW2 I'll keep it, if it doesn't or I have any issues I'll return it and get a new PW2 as my current one is a 3G and I don't have the need for that but hubby does and he has a PW1. So he'll get mine and we will sell the PW1.

But you can take the KF8 eBooks and very easily shift them to be ePub. It's not hard at all to do using the KindleUnpack plugin and then fixing the technical errors is rather easy.

When you review these eBooks, do you also tell them what you think of the formatting?

That is much better on the H2O. At the text size I normally read at, I expect to get even more text on screen vs the T1.

Yes I would say the PW2 is brighter because it's white. It's now 5am (yes I'm still awake) again only a side light on. This is with both devices at full brightness. I'll post another picture later when it's light.

I'm not sure if this helps. The third device is my iPad mini with the same book and page on a Marvin with Beige as the background colour. I couldn't find an exact match. H20 and PW2 at Max brightness

No I only review the story not the formatting. I get mobi files that I email to Amazon to get them on my Kindle. To convert to ePub I just use Calibre but that I can only do at home not if I'm at work or away for the weekend, or on holiday when I don't take my laptop or away on business as I only take my bank laptop not my own.

Plus I like a Kindle, I can't imagine never having one, but only one. I used to have a spare Kindle, but now I have a spare Kobo instead. I can see me keeping at two Kobo's, a Nook and a Kindle. I keep different books on one Kobo and the Nook. I then alternate between my Kindle and my H20 depending if I'm reading at home or commuting.

Thanks for the pics, Josie. Seeing them side by side, is the PW contrast better to you? In the pics, the PW font has noticeably darker blacks to me. Maybe it's due to the cooler/whiter background on the PW or maybe it's just in the pics it appears that way.

They are also very different fonts. Difficult to tell with that comparison pic.

Sorry about the font. The H20 was on Charis Modified Larger, my normal font. It's now daylight here 9am though it's a miserable overcast day, both devices are on caecilia and max brightness. The stock caecilia on the H20 I've had to thicken by in the font advanced settings of the H20 as I do think the blacks are blacker on the PW2, that's the screen colour I think. I guess because I've no overhead lights on and it's a dull day the H20 screen does look cream/ivory and not white like the PW2

Here are better pictures taken with my camera. Personally I don't think the iPad photos are that great.
Both on the same font, Caecilia. The small one is the PW2's smallest font, the largest is at the PW2's second to large. This font does not go any larger on the H20. The mid one is the size I nomally ready on, which is no 5 on the PW2.
I think the clarity on the H20 is slightly better, but tbh there's not much in it, both have Carta screens, I think the PW2 is 212 ppi and the H20 is 265ppi but i'm not 100% sure, thats guessing from what I remember.
