Using the keyboard shortcut would have been more steps than:
- switching to Internet Explorer - selecting the filepath in the URL bar - switching back to Chrome - pasting the filepath into the URL bar and tapping return (it was a deep path that would've required a lot of clicking, hence my annoyance that drag-dropping wasn't working) On a Mac, I might have used Command-o in a similar situation, but I'd've dragged the file I wanted to open to the sidebar first, so that it would've been waiting for me --- I didn't want to use Control-o 'cause it would've been a pain either re-navigating to the file, since Windows doesn't let one drag into a file open dialog to re-set where it's pointing to. |
