The moderating team are discussing the issue now. The point is that the reason the forum is divided into subject areas is so that people can go to a specific place to find discussions on specific subjects. People come to the "Deals" forum to find posts about deals, and having to wade through pages of unrelated issues to find them greatly detracts from the ease of use of the forum. We have a Calibre forum for talking about Calibre.

We'll get back to you on this once we've reached a decision.

I also think it is easier to get some quick advice and discussion from people with related reading habits. The discussions here are usually very helpful - in addition to the reading suggestions. I enjoy the "What have I bought and read this week" kind of posts, plus the occasional ereader suggestions and personal notes.

I do not think it detracts from the purpose of this thread, quite the contrary.

Someone must be mad because they can't find any romance deals. But if there is nothing on sale / free we can't post anything. I enjoy this thread the way it is. We have all become friends. So if I have questions about Calibre or some other non deal related issues that I know regulars here can answer I prefer to post them here. Besides, it's interesting hearing about what people read and buy each week and what they think about certain books. I really hope the mods decide not to crack down on our fun.
