How close is "comfy"? It is more intimate and relaxed, and has less formal and definitive attachments than does "comfortable".

not bad, although in french at least there is a connotation of psychological well-being as well as physical, i don't know if comfy is quite so versatile.

"Psychological well-being"? Sorry, I'm not completely familiar with the term. it is indeed the rarest of creatures, though i admit to having glimpsed it from afar on occasion. i'm pretty sure no virgins were involved, or muppets. well, maybe the swedish chef.

I thought you were talking about the Psychological Well Being that lives at the bottom of wells belonging to psychologists. They tend to consume all happiness that enters the room. Something of a paradox, really.

The "Psychological Well Being" doesn't just live in the bottom of psychologist's wells, just as the Abominable Snow Man isn't made from abominable snow, or the snow of abominable people. The being dwells is wells. The being is psychological. It is usually harmless, most are numismatists, and only the more radical PWBs gather to themselves small children.
