Probably Barack Obama's The Audacity of Hope, I already read reviews of it so I want to keep it in my mobile device.

It seems to be available from ebookmall, diesel ebooks, and the Sony store (for the Sony format only).

It seems the more that I wander about looking for my favorite books in ANY ebook format the more I am frustrated by their lack of representation...many of these books have the electronic rights either tied up with multiple holders or with co-authors in disagreement about how to use those rights.

Joe Connelly's amazing novel, Bringing out the Dead is a great example. Tim Burton's The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories isn't just difficult to find as an ebook, but is also a rare find in the book stores. Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet's Good Omens is also sadly absent (although I imagine that has a lot to do with the inability of the two to agree on the electronic rights of the book).

The point here is that there are so many good books that would make great additions to the ebook market, but are either tied up in battles over their rights or have multiple holders of their copyrights. I miss the idea that good books should be available to as many people as possible...it seems that in the age of copyrighting slogans and DRM that business is more important than story telling...sigh...

I noticed that James Clavell's "Tai-Pan" showed up as a pre-order in Fictionwise's latest email notification, and at a very reasonable price.

I believe this series was on the wish list so hopefully the rest will follow shortly.

Its funny you should mention this book as its one om my Favorites and I've been keeping an eye out for a eBook version.

What's even more Ironic that Most of the other books by both authors are available as eBooks, just not this one so it might be question of the publisher (Corgi Books / Harper ) dragging their heels.

Terry Pratchet and Neil Gaiman had a falling out over the movie rights to the book. Gaiman wanted to adapt it for the screen, but Pratchet was not as willing. There were several issues with the studio and the movie never happened...unfortunately this mucks up the possibility of it coming out in any other format as the electronic rights are still in a sort of limbo. (Although they may have come to terms with each and the studio about other formats such as ebooks and audio books and we just haven't seen the fruits of those terms yet.)

I am very shallow.
For those moments that I need a bit of a giggle, I would love to dip into "Movlania: A Land Untouched by Modern Dentisty" by Jetlag Travel Guide.
Their follow-up "Phaic Tan: Sunstroke on a Shoestring" is also very funny.
I would keep them permanently on my Kindle and swap and change other deep and meaningful tomes around.
Would also love to have "Below the Beltway" by Dave Barry, but cannot as it's in PDF.
