Yes and no. 2.10.0 adds a optional daily automatic sync. If you have that selected and WiFi is on, then it will sync. But, as I said, I think Nightyume is talking about syncs when reading a purchased kepub. The status of that book is synced at certain times. I don't believe anything else is done then. The times I know of the sync happening are when you open or close the book or the device goes to sleep. 2.10.0 will also sync articles when you open Pocket.

In the "Direct Links to Kobo Firmware" thread in the developer's section, someone suggested changing the value in affiliate.conf to Mondadori.

I did that. AND IT WORKED. 2.10.0 is now on my Aura HD. Woo-hoo!

On my Glo, the 1% Light bug is still there.
Resolved the CBR bug, and it seems SLIGHTLY more responsive.

I did this and then changed the affiliate back to Kobo so that I could see my book covers when the ereader is asleep. I got to say I really appreciate how ridiculously easy it is to be able to change the affiliate from one thing to the next. Anyone stuck with a horrible FNAC or Monadori sleep screen should definitely change theirs to Kobo so that they can actually see their book covers in sleep mode rather than the distributor's advertising.

So when you do that you get no remnants of the resellers modifications? Fear of that is what is keeping me from trying that route

As near as I could tell that last time I played with changing the affiliate, changing the affiliate.conf file has no lasting effect.

Also, the links to the firmware on Kobo's site have been posted in the Direct Links thread and should appear in the first message fairly soon.

Regards,
David

Some small things I noticed changing from fw 2.8.1b to fw 2.10.0 on my Glo:

- It is no longer possible to refresh the page by double-tapping the centre of the screen.

- There is a second built-in dyslexic font.

- The reading stats page no longer truncates the series name to 3 letters

I had this bug on 2.8.1 too. And with the 2.10.0 is still there and worst than before: now if I set the brightness from 2 to 9% when the Glo wake up from standby (and when I push the light button as well) it automatically reset this value to 1% and the light doesn't reactivate. If the light is setted to 10% or higher all works fine. All this is very annoying, because my light doesn't work properly since the 2.6.1 firmware

Yes, by default the sleep screen had the Mondadori logo, but I was able to change that by simply selecting "Show Current Book Cover" in the "Light, Sleep and Power" section.

Finally have the 2.10 FW But oh! Something new is wrong with Kobo Nickel - now the line spacing is enormous, even at the lowest setting it is about twice what it used to be. I can't understand why they struggle so much with just this one font and not the others! Oh well, FW seems great otherwise.

2.10 reached also Italy today. I have updated my Glo this morning.
I feel stupid but I cant understand how the "Beyond the book" feature should work.

It appears in the new features pop-up window, but I cant find the icon, for both kobo kepub and sideloaded ones.

What I missed?

That's strange. The line spacing options have changed including adding lower values. Are you seeing this with epubs or kepubs?

All kepubs converted with Calibre. It was fine with the 2.9.0 (on GLO), but now with 2.10 just this one font has huge line spacing. All the others are fine - and yes, I can see a slight reduction in minimum line height with my other go-to font, Amasis.

I wonder if perhaps it has something to do with the way I remove the line-height CSS property in Calibre? Will experiment.

The lower values for readingLineHeight in the .conf file don't seem to translate to less space between lines. From what I can see the minimum readingLineHeight=1 with firmware 2.10.0 seems to give the same linespacing as readingLineHeight=1.3 did with previous firmware. (except for the Kobo Nickel font, which has much more linespace).

Edit: this is with Kobo-bought kepubs and sideloaded epubs.
