I have a PW too! I can't imagine a better e-ink device. I mostly use it when I'm sitting outside or when the tablet is recharging but I much prefer my tablet using Mantano for the bulk of my reading.

too bad Amazon doesn't have lots of coupon codes like Kobo...what is with Kobo only letting you purchase one book at a time. OMG that's a huge PITA.

Dear Author is giving away a Nexus 7 for their August giveaway.

I want to get my mom a tablet. She won't go on a computer at all. I've offered to let her borrow my laptop, but she doesn't. I think she may take to a tablet though. She does some stuff on her smart phone, but the screen is so tiny she gets frustrated.

Question, how do you all handle organizing your digital books when two authors have the same series name?

This is only happened to me once before and I solved it by putting a "The" in front of one of them as it worked in that instance. But I'm debating on eventually buying Dee Tenorio's Love by Numbers books and Sarah MacLean already has a series by that name. "The Love by Numbers" doesn't work for me I guess I could use Love by #s, but that looks tacky. Any ideas?

Haven't run into that yet. I suppose my first thought would be to do "Love by Numbers / Tenorio" and "Love by Numbers / MacLean". There may be something more elegant, but that would be my first thought.

I've seen this several times. If it's a duplicate or a common name I think will be used again I put the authors initials in parenthesis after the series name.
Lost Lords (LH) for Lorraine Heath's series and Lost Lords (MP) for Mary Jo Putney.

Don't forget the Screen Dim app for night use it's available at the Play Store and Amazon app store. Developer is a member here and it works great! I use it on all my Android tablets.

My Samsung Galaxy Player 5 started having battery issues. I found it was either one of three apps. Facebook, Copy.com or Happily Ever After Blog by USA Today. I uninstall them then did a reboot and seems to be fixed. It was down to 5% in standby in two days. I plan to put Copy back on and see if it comes back. My Money is on the other two apps as the culprit.

Get her a Kindle Fire HD. It's really easier for someone who is computer illiterate. My mother in law just got one and she loves it. There only $159 right now! She got hers from Best Buy but Amazon has them on sale too right now.

My naming convention is like this.

Author - [Series 01] - Title.epub
It will show up on my Kindle though like
Title (Series 01)
I use Calibre to auto do all of this for me.

Calibre automatically makes all series names and tags as collections on my Sony. I just don't want the two series ending up in the same collection. Although it would be very easy to tell them apart by the covers since one is an historical series and the other contemp.

Ah see I don't have that problem on my Kindles. I think Apesmom suggestion would work better for you.

Blossom, I've been eyeing the KPW for a long time, depending what Sony comes out with this year I will probably consider it depending on deals I could get of course. Question though, wouldn't I have to convert all my epubs over to mobi though? I'm scared of the technical aspects of switching everything over. [Calibre, tags, collections, formats! etc]

Yes epub to mobi or azw3 (KF8). Calibre handles it flawlessly. Here's what I do when I add a book I convert it to both formats and keep that in Calibre and in Dropbox. I started doing this two years ago as I never have to worry about what device I want to use as I always have the two main formats available to me. It takes seconds to convert epub to mobi or AZW3. You can do batch conversations as well. I prefer to do it one by one but I know others who convert in batches. I've done Harlequin who uses the same format on all books in batches though.

I had a Sony, but last year I got a kindle for Christmas. All of my ebooks were epub, instead of converting them all, I convert as I go. I use the reading list plugin and created a list named "send to device" for my top 10 tbr books and books I plan to read for challenges, books on that list get converted as they are added.

I convert as I go too. If tried to convert books as I added them to Calibre I would be here past Christmas trying! Books I plan to add to my Kindle get converted into both epub and mobi then added to Dropbox where they are sent to their final homes.

Out of my 10,000+ books only 500 are done.

On the other topic. I did buy books this week! Woot! I just don't what they were...Everything is kind of a blur as soon as I get them together and into Calibre I will fess up! lol You women who have their guys home all day. I don't know how you do it! Calgon take me away!
