Whatever may have been the case when they were originally published, Simon & Schuster have the Harper Hall rights now, at least in North America according to the latest available Amazon pb version, rather than Random House.

And S&S are another house that's pretty slow to e-backlist anything sf/fantasy besides the old Star Trek novels.

Make up a utility bill and any other guff they request - let 'word' or your word processor of choice be your friend... it's not as if we're trying to do some under the counter gun running here... ;-)

Not exactly a joyous and easy way to go about buying an ebook, though.

I think i tried that Entropay, once... and gave up fairly early in disgust.

I have had the reverse working for a while now (live in UK, use Entropay to buy from Amazon/Sony/Books on Board in USA) but the need to use it has diminished significantly now that UK ebookstores have bolstered their catalogues. It was very fiddly to get working and I was never able to get Barnes and Noble to work, even with a $50 gift card that I purchased in Williamsburg when I was there on holiday. I do think that it might have got more tricky since I attempted it as some of the more obvious loopholes have been closed.

It's even known in many quarters as the Mickey Mouse clause to the copyright laws. Think of how great their historical films could have been had they spent all that money to insure historical accuracy in their stories rather than throwing it at copyright lawyers.

Ha. I'm pretty sure lack of historical accuracy was a "feature" for Disney, not a "bug".

Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of Disney films, but some of their more problematic problems were probably intentional.

And here I was thinking that Disney was only having a negative effect on the state of art and culture in today's world by releasing bad movies.

Something to be said for exceeding one's expectations I guess.

Teenagers see things clearly.
I have heard junior highschool girls refer to the mouse corporation as "The Disney Slut Factory".

The career path created for the new mouseketeers and Hannah Montanna did not go unnoticed evidently.

Oh, yeah, no, they've got really lovely art, imho.

And even the problems in the later movies are really FedEx arrows. Some people see them, some people don't, difficult to say if the Disney folks meant for those problems to be there. (Intent is not, of course, magic, but it can be relevant.)

But the earlier works, yeesh. Definitely deliberately problematic. Not that they were unique in that regard but that is not remotely the point.

I liked Tangled.

Let's not forget that Britney Spears was a Mouseketeer, as well as Christina Aguilera. Fine young ladies, both.
