Since 99% of the time I move forward in a book I would like to simplify that process for someone like me that holds it with either hand and actually switches frequently. I think the new feature for customized tap regions is an improvement but it didn't go far enough. I would like to see horizontal region options along with the vertical regions they have. Myself, I would like the top 1/3 for going backwards, the bottom 2/3 for going forward, the menu stuck in the bottom middle of the 2/3 section like it currently is for the two new vertical options.
Another idea that would work for me is the complete area for moving a page forward, again minus the menu area. Then if I want to go backwards, I could swipe instead. |

Did the upgrade today, after reading this thread, checking for problems before I installed it.
Well, I'm still having problem with Reading Life losing my stats. When the upgrade was finished, it said 7 books read and 1% of my library. I went through to check my books, some of them I know were finished were marked unread. I fixed that, my reading stats were back to 22 books read 3% of my library finished where they were at the .10 firmware. I read a few pages of my current book, stats showed 6 pages read. Turned off the reader, powdered it back on, said 7 books read 1% of my library completed and no pages read in my current book. ARRGH!! The heck with new features, can these weird bugs be fixed? I've got an SD that's working, thank goodness (a Duracell 4G card), the books that were marked unread were both on the Sd card and Kobo downloads on the reader itself. For many this is not a major issue, and it's not. But if something was working before, and now does not, I get really annoyed. |

Oh, and maybe do a sync before reset to save your awards and any kepub bookmarks, etc. It's a weird issue, but at least it's not just one of us with it. ![]() |

Thank you!! I've heard a few people have had this issue, but as it's nothing "major", and so few of us experience it, it seems to get pushed to the side. I wonder if overlaying all these firmware updates cause many of the issues happening.
Thanks again for the help, I'll tackle this tomorrow and I'm not so tired. ![]() |

I find that if I use the KOBO Desktop, it's all good. It's only after using and ejecting from Calibre. I dragged and dropped manually and automatically synced from KDT and had no problem.

Alright guys, bought my KT a few days ago, working fine, got 1.9.12 installed but one thing that bugs me. I'm not a big WiFi user, in fact, I very rarely use it, all of my books I have are just sideloaded.
Thing is, I've notice that, no matter what I do, I cannot set the time manually or even the GMT for that matter (it always go back to UTC - 4). Bug? I cannot understand why Kobo Destop wouldn't set that when I sync to my KT since I rarely am connected to WiFi and do understand that the time is suppose to set itself yet I was connected today and the time is still screwed. And why did someone said that the latest firmware has a fix for 24h time yet I don't see any option to set for 24h time? Not that it matters much since my KT refuses to set the proper time anyway lol |

oh lol I thought that UTC was some strange time zone, I mean I'm GMT-5, so I was expecting to see that when setting it. There's no 24h our setting isn't it? I really don't like the am/pm crap here lol

Is it me or in this firmware the browser is still fairly useless? Any button in a webpage cannot be pressed on thus rendering browsing useless on most websites. I also note that there is still no way to highlight in books I have sideloaded which means that WiFi becomes useless since I cannot ever quote any books I read and send to my facebook.
