I see you've not really read this thread, Someone else posted links to photos showing the 6 available fonts and that is where I got my information from.

What, do I hear the sound of your hand slapping your forehead yelling D'Oh! in a Homer Simpson like voice?

No, I meant the picture you posted on page 8 (not there now) that showed a sample of the ugly font.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was actually agreeing with you.

I stand by statements judging your history here on the nook subforum.

BN could have included every single font, every feature known to man, and yet you would have still found something to nick pick and complain about.
What i find odd is Im sure you have no intention of every buying a nook but yet love to tear it apart.

Oh well, just hold on to your sony as I'm sure this will be the last model they'll put out.

I have two nooks and plan to buy the next one if it comes down to $99. Can *I* complain about the fonts?

(The above is meant to be read in a playful-yet-earnest tone. )

Seems the image I linked was removed or only a temporary image.

But to be honest, most people do not like reading with a sans-serif font and The serif choices are not all that nice.

So what is your opinion of the fonts for the new nook?

To be honest, if I ever decide to replace my 650 or get another reader, I want it to be better then the 650 I have now and it can be another brand other then Sony. But right now, I'd wait to see what Sony does if I had the choice and then decide what was best for me. Gives people a chance also to find out about any possible issues with ADE on the nook & Kobo.

i actually prefer sans serif fonts whenever possible. my nook is currently set to Helvetica, and i love it. i didn't have a sans-serif choice on my old reader.

it's crisper, seems to have better contrast, and i can read it faster.

If I were in the market I'd take a look at this after the price drops. Considering how the prices have been dropping on ereaders, I have a hard time paying about the same as for the Nook Classic, but with less functionality. I'm a cynic when it comes to ponying up money for new devices.

I prefer sans-serif, I always select that on the nook/nook color.

I know quite a few people who bought a reader with sans-serif fonts being a big selling point for them.

It's totally a YMMV issue I think. Personally I prefer serif fonts.

I frequently read with sans serif on the "old" Nook. I use serif more, but I do like the option.
