Oops. My mistake. It was working if you open the file in the program, but not if you double-click an epub to open the program. I've fixed it and have released an update. Thanks for finding the bug!

It does not seem to make a difference if you use spaces when entering the "subjects" or not, no difference between "x|y" and "y | y", right?

If you include spaces, they will appear in the subject fields in the epub. So it would be better not to include spaces.

Hi everyone,

I have started encountering EPUB3 files in the wild. So far, EPUB Metadata Editor seems to be handling them fine. I have therefore removed the warning dialog that appears when you open such a file. However, I still consider the code to be alpha-quality, so the EPUB3 label is still visible inside the program, alerting you to the fact that things might not work as expected. As always, if you find a file that causes problems, please send it my way and I can tweak the code!

Hi everyone,

A donor made some great requests, so after implementing them I thought it warranted a version shift. Here's the changelog for 1.4.0:

• Added "Apply all cover fixes and save EPUB" button [requested]
• Added shortcut keys (using ALT) to some buttons [requested]
• When adding or changing cover, the "Prioritise cover file" button now appears [requested]
• Fix for better handling of optional meta info of creators in EPUB3
• Fix so that existing back cover not automatically chosen if no cover nominated in OPF file
• Some code cleaning

Hi, thanks for nice tool

It would be useful to add in Batch operations (if possible at all) function to rename fields, like creator for example, which, as far as I can see, I can only edit in single mode. Or to batch rename all in list based on the first, which was tagged propperly.

If I'm wrong and such possibility exists, can someone please point me to some tutorial how to do that, I got converter (KCC) name in 300+ comics, which showing in Kobo Aura as author.

Am I the only one having an issue with EPub Metadata Editor (v1.4.1) and Sigil (v 0.8.7)? If I open a pub in EPub Metadata Editor and hit the "Apply all cover fixes and save EPUB" button, Sigil will no longer open the pub, complaining, "Attribute 'id' redefined." Editing the .opf file directly shows, at the line complained about (last line of the manifest container), the id="cover.jpg" is indeed redefined as near the top of the container it is defined with different contents. If I remove the offending line, Sigil is fine with opening the document, but EPub Metadata Editor will then complain, "Cover thumbnail info missing."
