It really does help! I actually do have 20 pages of books (because I've been too lazy to move them into collections). Paging-forward was a drag!
For anyone who may not know that there is a shortcut way to type numbers on the Kindle 3, here are the keyboard combinations: ALT + Q = 1 ALT + W = 2 ALT + E = 3 ALT + R = 4 ALT + T = 5 ALT + Y = 6 ALT + U = 7 ALT + I = 8 ALT + O = 9 ALT + P = 0 I find it much easier than using the SYM button to access numbers, unless I also need other characters only found there. |

Still, it's hugely handy on book lists. Thank you for the tip! |

here is an odd issue I never thought of before. I name my collections in this format:
### {Genre} - {subgenre} The genre values can be actual genres or authors or series names. I know it's odd but it works for me...until now when I just read about using the keyboard to skip to pages. It's GREAT, however there is a big flaw for me and my naming convention. I can't skip to all my 200 level categories because if I hit the 2-key it offers to take me to page 2 of the list rather than the titles/categories (depending on the sort context) beginning with 2. D'oh!! now I have to re-think my whole naming convention after using it for over a decade for directories, dang it anyway! ![]() ![]() |

In reality, folks are usually just trying to stay warm indoors, catching a few pages in bed, trying to keep the light low so the spouse can sleep. For the majority of the time, we like a lighter background. Quote:

Hmm I don't think I'd want a white background. I'd be satisfied with a light grey or so...

My pet issue is actually an alarm clock. Just something as simple as flashing the menu at a certain time. This way I won't have to glance at a clock every minute or so, and would be able to enclose myself in whatever I am reading right now without a distraction of being late.

Since I do have a 650 with touch screen, I find fingerprints are not really a problem. They don't show that well and it's very easy to clean once in a while. It's nothing near as bad as you think.

I would not change much; I like it as it is. It WOULD be nice to be able to print out a txt file list of all the books in my Kindle, and have the list read exactly as the titles/authors show up on the Kindle "Home" screen.

I hate the fact that I can't change the screen savers. I hate those pictures. I want more control.
