That Library skin looks great, that's always been one of my favorites.

Super pleased with it and with DecalGirl, so much that I'm looking for a skin for my Blackberry now! hehehe

I love the matte finish. Not slippery and doesn't show fingerprints at all!

My Gelaskins arrived today. It fits pretty nicely and isn't quite as glossy as I thought it would be, which is a good thing. It was pretty easy to put on as well.

Without further ado, I present my dressed up Kindle:

@maverick777: VERY nice skin. One of my favorite Gelaskins! (beside Audrey Kawasaki skins)

I wanted to keep it clean and simple and ordered a vinyl decal from LinusCo Designs - very cheap and good quality.

regards.

My turn! I am newish to the kindle having only just gotten it and I decided to get a skin! I love it!! Makes the kindle so personalized!

Getting the skin on was super hard for me and you can see some mistakes on the front however I don't care enough to fix it lol.

I have a light pink case but I cannot stand straps, I prefer the hinge system so it just sits in a drawer.

Well here it is! I have the Hot Pink Lighted Amazon Case. Love it!
I dont think the skin and case match so well but I am ok with that.

I don't know why but for some reason I am just not a fan of the skins. I have a nice Oberon leather cover for the Kindle but the Kindle device itself should remain clean and without blemish. Some of the skins/gels do look awesome though.

Actually I totally understand that. It took me awhile to decide on a skin. I decided to get one after I saw how dirty mine was getting. I guess the oil on my hands affects my kindle.

I see all these beautiful skins and I'm contemplating on getting one for myself. However, I have a few concerns... Bubbles and pet hair! When I apply screen protectors to my other devices, I always get bubbles and/or a pet hair gets stuck in behind. Anyone else have these problems? tips tricks to apply these skins?
Also How long do they last? I'm sure everyone's care of the Kindle varies but what is the average lifespan on these? How long have you had yours? Do they lift/peel after a while?
Thanks for your time,
Sylvie

awesome! My desk is filled with cat things and I have found the same thing. They ask for a pen and I hand them a cat shaped one or one with feathers and I am sure to get it back! lol

Sylvie, a skin is nothing like a screen protector, it's much thicker. A skin is made from vinyl, you can't see through it, the back of it is a dark gray color. If you put it on carefully, there is no way pet hair will show, and just take your time, there will be no bubbles. I have never, ever had one lift or peel off, not even on the corners. It's hard to explain, but once you apply it, it's stuck really well, although it can be lifted to make adjustments if you need to at the time of installation. I cannot imagine one of these things wearing out, or fading or anything. I've heard of people having them installed for many months, and it still looks as good as the day of installation.

I can't imagine using my Kindle without a skin, and a cover. The skin does keep fingerprints and such off of it, but more than anything, the skin is decorative and personalizes my Kindle, makes it uniquely mine. Especially since I designed my own skin, I didn't buy one they had on their site. But I still can't say I'm the only one who has a skin like this because I've shared my artwork with several other Kindle friends and they had a skin made for their Kindle from my design.

I highly recommend putting a skin on your Kindle, I don't think you'll be sorry!

my cats sleep on and with me and my Kindle every night, I also have a Newfoundland dog that goes everywhere with me. if it is possible to get hair into nooks, crannies and crevices, I've gotten it. the skin I put on my first K1 is still on it and it even spent the better part of a summer with a 9 year old. if I were OCD, it could probably use a qtip around some of the edges, but it does not look 3 plus years old. I've put on 4 skins now and never had a bubble
