You need to decide if you like chewy(my favourite) or crunchy.
...and sometimes you don't decide. Random circumstances, ingredient quality, oven temperature, humidity, Reserve Bank rates, solar flare status, if the Moon is in the Seventh House, and Jupiter's aligned with Mars...all these things meet to determine the outcome.

hm, i had a petrol heater (i think it must be similar) in my old appartment. it was pretty to look at and toasty warm, but there was nothing comforting about the stink ! luckily, it was only stinky when i shut it off.

little bug has (so far) never logged me out with her bum, thank heavens, but she does often suffer from that syndrome of "pay attention to me NOW !!!" so common to cats. actually both of them do. sadly, it seems to have almost nothing to do with the weather. it does make it hard to get any work done though.

There was a TV show in the US from 1968-1973, know for it's frenetic pacing and non-sequiter comedy. Totally off the wall stuff. One of their many trademarks was taking the same comedy bit and doing it over and over again from ever possible angle/variant.

The particular joke series involved was a lady saying "And now folk's, it's sock it to me time", followed by some form of faked punch, which the lady was always trying to dodge, never sucessfully.

This was just one of many ongoing punchlines, such as: "The Flying Fickle Finger of Fate" award, the dirty old man chasing the old lady on the bench, or having a near endless chain of people saying "Goodnight, Dick" at the end of the show...

Uncompared silliness....

The actual phrase was taken from a hit record entitled 'Respect' (1967) recorded by Aretha Franklin, which featured a chorus repeating 'Sock it to me' quite rapidly in the background. The phrase 'to sock it to someone' originally meant 'to put something bluntly' (and was used as such by Mark Twain). Black musicians gave it a sexual meaning, as in 'I'd like to sock it to _her_.'

I've just come back from a day out to Becherel, the French book village. I bought a load of Pleiades for my partner and we had a very nice lunch in a creperie.
There's a cafe called "La vache qui lit" (named after the cheeese spread, "La vache qui rit).

The creperie, I love it. That's what I'm going to call the shoddy looking diner at the end of the street from now on.

It sounds as though you are having a lovely time. What are "Pleiades"? I only am familiar with the stars and a California wine.

It doesn't. It comes in triangles wrapped in aluminum paper, in a round cardboard box box.

Pléïades are good. It's a collection of books, great classics in a small format but hard bound and printed on bible paper, so they pack a LOT of content for their weight and size. Almost as good as e-books

My mother has a few of those and I read from some of them when I was a teenager. I remember Edgar Allan Poe, and Proust (which I didn't read then), and there were some theater plays also, but I can't remember which ones. I loved reading from those. They are beautiful objects.
