That is one of the reasons that I keep the hummingbird feeders hanging from the outer edge of the eave over the balcony. We have had a few bears come through the complex including one that did a great job of shredding the doors on the recycle bins probably attracted by the organic recycling and another who when neighbours left a couple of bags of groceries in their van overnight prompted the bear to try their paws at breaking and eating.

The first image is shooted with the Carl Zeiss 41mp (Nokia Lumia 1020), the other within a Carl Zeiss of 20mp (Lumia 1520).
Thought I'd get the correct alveoli. The second and the third pictures are from baking it after a leavening on the fridge (8 hours, plus the previous 4). The first baking had its common 5,5 hours only. A note as for when it's (finnally! ) done right: it doesn't weighs.

Stuffing the slow cooker with a cowboy casserole for dinner tonight and leftovers for a couple of lunches.

It's King's Day today in the Netherlands. A day off from work for me. I've planned a relaxed day. Making preparations for a cross stitch project, doing some actual cross stitching and finishing my current book. And tonight we're going to finish the second season of Good Omens (my sister's first time watching it).
I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that the rest of the week brings a lot less drama at work than last week. I was seriously ticked off on Friday night with everything that had happened. |

I eat a lot of yogurt - mostly Yoplait - and Pixie cat always waits to get a lick from the container after I finish - has enjoyed all flavors ... so far ... until I tried the new (to me) flavor Orange Creme (aka Creamsicle ) which tasted metallic but ok to me (artificial orange flavorings often taste metallic to me) - but Pixie took one lick and then stared at me as if I was trying to poison her - the look of total outrage was priceless.

Getting ready for a long day.
First work from 8am until 5pm. Then go home, change clothes and head out to my parents' place to celebrate Mother's Day. Yes, MD is on Sunday, but my sister will be going on vacation that day so we're doing it tonight. It does mean I have an extra long week all to myself. I've taken Monday and Tuesday off from work, because I'm going to a concert on Monday night. Yesterday I did my almost all of my weekly chores. Tomorrow I'm putting away some colder weather things and pulling out the warmer weather things and on Sunday I have to water my plants. My plan is to take it easy, finish my current book, enjoy the good weather over the weekend, maybe go on a walk on Sunday and watch some movies. |

Weeding the lawn by hand - growing some sort of weed that is too wispy to mow and lays down flat to avoid the weed whacker - all have been pulled ... for now

And as you start cleaning up, you hear little voices from your lawn: "We'll be back!"

Moping, albeit unsurprised, that the new Masters of the Universe flopped. (I thought it was better than it had any right to be.)

Today's the last day at the supermarket I work for before the refurbishment starts. Yesterday was already a strange day. Lots of things were already sold out and it felt like every other customer wanted to know why (the walked past about six signs about the refurbishment entering the store). I expect today's going be worse. We're open until 5pm (normally until 9pm) and after that there's three hours of packing everything before the keys get hand over to the builders.
From tomorrow I'll be working at another store for three week. I chose to go to the one close to my parents. There are stores that are closer, but those are in not so good neighbourhoods with a very different type of customer and I don't think I'll enjoy that. We went by the other store on Sunday and it's tiny, from what I remember (my aunt and uncle lived near and I used to look after their cats during their summer vacation) it was a lot bigger. It's also a quieter store than ours. I'm filling a cashier who is on vacation and I'm not sure whether I will work the regular tills, on self check-out or a combination. I hope the latter. Normally it takes a 12 minute bike ride to get to work. Now it's a 12 minute ride to the bus station and then a 50 minute bus ride. I don't mind it as much in the morning but at night it'll take away time to myself. I normally have about an hour, after getting home and taking a shower, to do whatever I was before my sister gets home. Lately I've taking to working on a cross stitch project during that time. Now I'll be home probably half an hour before my sister and that'll give me just enough time to shower. That's a shame because I enjoyed my quiet cross stitching hour. And yes, I will be bringing an ereader with me, so I can read on the bus (and during my lunch break). But it's still different spending time at home or on a, possibly, crowded bus. |

Good luck with the change; I'm glad it's temporary and only for three weeks!
