The Pocketbooks also have page turn buttons. Not on both sides of the bezel like the GlowLights, however.

Although I do have colour on all the pages of the books I read on my colour e-readers, not just on the covers, I understand that a colour e-reader is only interesting if you really want colour (for whatever reason, which can vary greatly). If colour doesn't add anything for you, I don't see much point in it. But if you want colour, obviously a monochrome e-reader isn't going to give it to you, no matter how excellent its monochrome screen is. Perhaps in this sense, the results of the opinion poll published in Mobileread on the preference for one type of e-reader over another are understandable.

I get that many people like color on their eink readers, no matter its flaws. I just don't think I'd be one of them. I don't miss color at all on eink. If they eventually manage to create an eink screen with full, saturated, lifelike colors, then of course I'll be happy to get it. But as long as color eink has drawbacks compared to b/w, not so much. |

I cannot recommend the Sage or Ellipsa due to the rather poor batteries. I cannot recommend any of the color Kobo as I can't stand them. I could maybe recommend the Clara BW if someone wants a 6". Bot if anyone wants larger then 6" for sure, there is no Kobo to recommend. |

When I get an ebook in ADE, the first thing I see is a color cover. When I open an ebook in ADE the first thing I see is a color image. And interestingly, links are also shown in color. If I had a Kobo color ereader, the first thing I would usually see is a color imageI believe. I wasn't willing to make the leap between "there is no color content" and "there is no color content I care about". As far as my opinion on the value of a color ereader, I'm going to wait until I get my next ereader and evaluate then. I did take a quick look at a Kindle colorsoft, and I thought the black text looked fine. YMMV |
