How I fixed the loose connector/cover losing charge problem on my 8yo Kindle Oasis
Recently the charging contacts on my Kindle Oasis and its cover could not connect to each other. As a result, the cover could not charge the KOA. Here what I did to fix the issue.
Tools/Material needed: - An electric soldering-iron - Some lead-free solder - A three-cornered file Steps I took: 1. Open the back panel of the KOA 2. With the soldering-iron and the solder, create 5 small welds on top the KOA's 5-pin charging connector/port 3. Gently use the three-corner file to flatten down the welds a little bit so that the charging cover's 5-pin connector can contact with the KOA's connector 4. Put the panel back to the KOA 5. Done Here is the KOA's 5-pin connector looks like after I completed the steps above: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RdG...ew?usp=sharing Last edited by tinbilly; 05-18-2024 at 01:21 AM.
