Is there a widow/orphan control?

Hi, I've been using Calibre for ages to convert song lyrics to e-reader format to use on stage. I made a simple-ish lyric sorter in php which outputs a lyric list in HTML, which I then convert to ePub for my devices.

This works great, except that I'd like to have some sort of widow/orphan control so that verses of a song stay together before or after a page break. It's hard enough remembering the chords at the best of times without having to turn the page mid-verse. Is this something which already exists or is it a feature request?

Yes I could just memorise all the words but no I can't.

set CSS widows and orphans to number of lines in a verse and only use <br/> for line ends in a verse.

Maybe there is a better way, but that will work
You can have inline css at the start of an HTML file.

and remember 0 is invalid for either.
(I can't count how many CSS I have seen with 0

)

1 is when you don't want a limit (Allow a single line)
2 or more when you want a group (AND IT WILL FIT the view)

You could also use page-break-inside:avoid (or the newer break-inside:avoid) for each verse.

Hey hi, you should adjust CSS like orphans:2;, widows:2; for <p> or <div> elements to check song verses stay together before page breaks in ePub files.
