i much prefer to buy any electrical item (especially something like an ereader) directly from the shop/store. at least that way it's much easier to return it for an exchange or a refund. i'm no fan of gadget buying (only) online

Who has said 60%? And since when does "most" mean statistics needing proof? It's an opinion, as I already said. You, of course, are perfectly free to believe it or not. Naturally people tend to believe that "most" do as they themselves do; in this case, as DNSB pointed out, various posts and opinions seem to support my opinion, unless you believe that the vast majority not using the frontlight is always simply silent on the subject. Which may be true, of course, as no one can prove otherwise.

And no, I don't think that my habits always are the majority's habits. I sideload exclusively, but I'm well aware the sideloaders are not the majority of all ereader users. I have several ereaders in active use, and while this may be true for many other MR members as well, most ereader users probably only have one in active use.

If you are that interested, I’d suggest that you search for posts mentioning front light and see what the numbers are. My memory says the number is a lot higher but I’m going to let you do the research to generate a more precise number.

Does anyone have any experience with the soft TPU type covers? I don’t think I’ll be using it for reading, just for quick transport, do they stink? Do they stretch out of shape?

The first type is available here in thr Philippines for about 8 US$.

I did not get one as i am waiting for the kind that doesn't fold as a stand.
