I'm pretty sure most people use the frontlight on a frontlit reader. Whether always or occasionally, that's a different question.
I always keep the light on, as I can't stand a grey screen. And I don't read in direct sunlight, which would be the the only situation not needing the light at all. IMHO, of course. OTOH I don't read in the dark either, which is why I'm not as fussy about the light quality as some other people. |

I think my usual reading situation is fairly low light, hence the higher figures, but also I bet different devices have different strength lights too, so just adjust it until it looks like a regular piece of paper or a page from a book in good lighting. |

I went ahead and ordered the Libra 2. It'll arrive in January from Amazon prime. So I shall see for myself if I will like it.

A few days ago I received KL2. First impressions: The screen is very good, the backlighting is even. Can't get used to the buttons. They are inconvenient for me. The sharp edge of the screen interferes. My wife has Kobo Libra H2O, the buttons are more convenient there. I took it on Amazon, I have time to think.

That’s my issue too. I do use the light. I actually read all my ereaders in daylight on at least 80% brightness, I like a white screen. The only e-readers I have now with an uneven light are my Forma and Libra H20. My Voyage, Oasis and Libra 2 are perfect.

I found a 32G Libra 2 in my Xmas stocking this morning, courtesy of my lovely husband. The screen is absolutely top notch and so far as I can see the lighting is even. It loads up and processes far faster than my H2O2. And while I know it's only a small increase in display size, I actually find that increase noticeable and welcome.
